These people live in dirt shacks, how are they going to afford this contraption? And how many bugs would this catch? Enough to feed 1, maybe 2 people?

In the early 80s my cousin worked part time after school for Cargil in one of their flour mills. The had machines that were several stories tall that sifted out things like bug parts, patches of hairy rodent skin, etc before packaging.

During the process of collecting and processing many a pest were feasting on said commodity.

They are always building stuff with solar panels or hooking up to the internet to people in these countries funded by the U.S. taxpayer. Besides you could have them pedal a bicycle for power and have them switch turns if nothing else.

I'll stick to microbials.

The interesting part is that in some ways cheese and yogurt are much more disgusting if you think about it.

Yogurt is excretions from modified animal sweat glands which then have bacteria added to partially digest it.

Cheese is those same modified animal sweat gland excretions but with added animal stomach juice, and then often wrapped up and allowed to stew with bacterial or fungal organisms on a shelf for a year before it is eaten.

Aren't most insects guts rather acidic? That makes them somewhat incompatible as a staple diet for human digestive systems.
You mean like orange juice or even SunnyD?
