We're still at 2010 R3 and have no plans to upgrade.
Same here. The changes made in 2013 were wild and not well thought-out by whomever was calling the shots at Symantec. I reviewed all of the documentation and put together a rough plan to upgrade to BE2013. We were going to need to go from less than 20 jobs and selection lists to something unbelievable like 215 backup jobs to accomplish the same results. Someone should have been screaming "If it ain't broke, don't break it!"
Since a migration to BE2013 will basically be a complete rip and replace, and a brand new product to learn, we'll be evaluating options from other vendors before we make the jump. Good luck, Symantec.
As for other Symantec products other than BackupExec...
I really don't mind Endpoint Protection. We experience problems with it every once in a while, but it's pretty infrequently. SEPM is decent. Like anything, there was a learning curve...but I can't say it's a bad product.
We use Enterprise Vault for email archiving...it's OK. But I can't say I know a whole lot about it. I don't touch it much.
We also use "Symantec Encryption Desktop" and "Symantec Encryption Management Server"...but that's because we were a PGP Desktop/Whole Disk Encryption and PGP Universal Server shop before Symantec bought them. I like those products a lot...but it remains to be seen how much they may be dirtied up by Symantec. That's also how we became a Symantec shop for our Backup software...we were using Veritas before they were bought out by Symantec.
