bleh. 625-650bhp region here. 2011 5.0 with a 2.3 TVS and 82mm pulley.

Slapped on the blower and a set of drag radials, was good enough for back to back 10 sec passes at the track even with a shifting issue.

However, regular street tires are beyond useless.

Get the power, it's fun.

Since it's been asked multiple times. Stock Challenger 392. There is little to no point in bolt ons because getting tuning capability runs $4k or so, so you either get nothing out of them, or spend a ton just to get anything out of them. In my view it's whole hog or nothing due to this. Much of what people have tried to do with the stock tune still in place has reduced, not increased performance.

True Story.

Still a little slippery if you flat foot it in second on cold smooth concrete though, say like highway on ramps in the middle of the night :awe:

First gear on hot summer asphalt will put a smile on your face though.

Because Mark Donohue.

"It will never have enough power until I can spin the wheels at the end of the straightaway in high gear." (Donohue's comment on the 1,580 hp Porsche 917/30.)

I believe that was a slight misquote from him. What he actually said was even more epic though.

"When you can leave two solid black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower." - Mark Donohue, driver of the legendary 1580-hp 39-psi twin-turbocharged 5.374-liter v12 equipped 1800-lb Porsche 917/30 "Can-Am Killer"

I've seen so many variations of the quote that I'm pretty sure by now that it's a sentiment that Donohue expressed on multiple occasions.

It's a shame that Donohue passed away, he truly was a fantastic racer. My favorite quote of his is from when he was testing the 917/10. Donohue had been in a crash and George Follmer was temporarily continuing the testing. Donohue's comment? "It just doesn't feel right. Seeing another man driving your car, a car you know so well. I imagine it must feel like watching another man in bed with your wife."

That's what I'm looking at. Putting down nearly 600hp is just unusable at this point unless I go with MT. Not wild about spending 1k on a setup, but wheel spin at the 1/8 mile mark is scary.

What kind of tires do you have now?

Michelin PS2 since Super Sports don't yet come in the right size for my car.

Well, those are some pretty dang nice tires. What size do you run on the rears?

You drive a CTS-V right? If so, I would think those Mickey's would look rather odd on it.

And then add a driveshaft when it snaps.

Hopefully you have a driveshaft loop, else you're going to be replacing a lot more than just the driveshaft if it snaps with that kind of power (and you still may end up doing so if you have a loop)

The stock rear tires are 285/35/19 and I would probably go up to 305/30/19 MT. I really don't care what it looks like drag racing it. I know some owners run them all the time, but I hit rain too much.
