as with everything else, he, i won't name names, but <cough>lucas<cough>, always wants to do everything himself(or oversee everything). Thats what I read a few months ago. I dunno, maybe he just doesn't trust other people.
I'm not completely positive but I seem to recall seeing "The Godfather Trilogy" on DVD at one of those dedicated movie stores in the mall. Same goes for Indiana Jones. Maybe my mind is just playing tricks on me but for some reason I seem to recall seeing them.
heh, Roger.. your eyes were playing tricks on you. Those movies are the few black spots on the DVD format.. I work in the media section of Circuit City and it's unbelievable how often I have to explain why Star wars, Indiania jones and others aren't on DVD..
All three of those movies were released very recently, and I would be supprised if he had control over them like he does with the others. He has said that Indiana Jones won't see DVD till like 2003 or something.
Well...who is the dink behind not releasing Forrest Gump on DVD? I know Lucas had nothng to do with it, I don't think Spielberg did....I do know Zemeskis directed it....but the thing is....I've heard NOTHING on the subject...almost like the movie doesn't exsist....
jmaster,
not really DivX encodes as good as they are do not match dvd quality. Mp3 on the other hand is pretty much indistinguishable to most ppl if encoded at a good rate. DivX also is missing, special features, surround, menus, and resolution
Divx are the best and better than dvds... but the only reason to buy dvds are for the extras...
If you are watching movies on your computer, than Divx is more than fine, and DVD cann't be appreciated... you need a home theater setup for a dvd, and most college people don't have that.
