Why pay $24.45 for a $25 giftcard?

I am selling a $25 iTunes giftcard on ebay and its up to $24.45!
I can not understand why someone would want to pay that much for it...
I do understand the free shipping part, but that only cost me $1.08

Now at $22.72

I sold one earlier last week for that amount too

Strange if this were about anything else BUT a gift card I would be in agreement. People overpay all the time on Amazon. However a giftcard, with free shipment, is well like paying $24.45 for 25 bucks in real cash. So long as they use it that is.

You have the ability to block international bidders on your pages. For future auctions, go into your seller preferences.

I got a question. Do companies tax gift cards? If I buy a wal-mart giftcard at wal-mart, will it be sales taxed? Will the items bought with the giftcard be sales taxed again too then? So lame if true.

BTW, it's a bit difficult to find under their new interface. Go to your eBay the click Account then Site Preferences. Towards the bottom you'll see "Buyer Requirements". Click on it then go to Edit. From there you can block users from different countries, with low feedback rating, etc.

They tax certain giftcards in the states too. When I bought a $25 visa giftcard it cost $27 something, but the giftcards I bought to specific stores all rung up without tax.

Back when ebay had the insane Bing Cashback percentages, it was worthwhile buying amazon gift cards at above their actual value. Frequently $100 gift cards would've been at $110 Buy it Now and you'd get something like 25% back.

Even still, people are weird.
I had a $40 Best Buy card sell for ~$42 bucks.

What is available on iTunes is country specific, so people not in the US have limited selections. Apparently a US credit card or a US gift card allows you to buy US stuff. Or something like that.
