So its ok huh? How long to you think it would last if Democratic states decided to close polling places in white Republicans districts. I'll tll you how long 2 seconds.

Also tell me why minorities should put up with rule changes specifically designed to effect them? Oh that's ok we'll take mostly poorer people and make them take time off from work and not get paid. Oh that's ok well close polling places in their districts. It won't kill them to wait hours more then their white counterparts.

-ATPN is a weird forum. You come in looking to have a discussion but it's like everyone wants to pick a fight and reads comments in the most contentious way possible.

Voter suppression is unequivocally wrong and I firmly believe everyone who wants to vote should have an option to.

Ok, now that I have my bonafides/purity test out of the way, my comment really drives at the whole "don't let them win" aspect of voter suppression, like that old Obama quote "when they go low, we go high".

When Pubs go for voter suppression, citizens need to work the system and get registered and vote any way they can (not saying it's fair for disenfranchised groups) to really emasculate the people trying to keep them down (and naturally the fruits of their votes would be the lifting of all the weird voter suppression crap).

Republican candidate for Georgia and all around loathsome individual, Brian Kemp, was caught on audio at a fundraiser saying it's a concern if everybody uses and exercises their right to vote. They're not even trying to be subtle that they don't want people exercising their right to vote. And if you've seen what's going on in Georgia (Brian Kemp is the Secretary of State and in charge of the office that runs the election), then you know what the GOP has been doing here to suppress the hell out of the vote, especially minorities.
