hahaha I remember many moons ago at a family dinner the aunt (by marriage) that was hosting had Pepsi instead of Coke, and an uncle picks up a can, looks at it and says loudly "What is this shit???". She could always give better then she received, and she said something like "it'll taste better after I shove it up your ass". Holidays are fun.

I find fanta's actually at its best when served rectally.. nvm...

The real reason Android fans are so bitter is because they know they have an inferior product. Google and Android phone manufacturers already know this. That is why they are racing to the top with the Mhz wars. They know they need the fastest processors and GPUs, because you have to do as much as possible in the 15 minutes your phone's battery is going to last. Apple is fine having "inferior" hardware, because over the course of the 8+ hours of usage, you will accomplish much more than an Android phone could dream of.

I wouldn't go that far, but I do wonder where the superiority argument comes from when apple's lower clocked CPUs continue to conquer android, even against ridiculously high clocked and 8 core SOCs.

Though I like the democracy of android, choice is a good thing and competition benefits us all.and i don't get snobby about the cheap point of entry for android, it's a great thing and my mom's moto g (that I recommend based on their limited income) has bought her lots of joy for 1/4th the cost of my iphone. As a tech lover I want more people to enjoy their mobile experience.. But the anger frustrates me. It's polarizing, when we should just be happy that the mainstream enjoys tech too. That's what apple's great at, making tech cool (or at least marketable), probably saving some nerds from a few noogies in the process.

Nah...you were still a loser if you didn't have a StarTac, or a later on a Razr.
If a StarTac could operate on a modern network I would still be using a StarTac. I need a phone, not a nanny/TV/butt tickler.

All mobile operating systems suck. Android sucks the least of them.

A few fanboys are not representative of any side of any discussion.
Problem is man when you go to the comments section of ANY apple product in the last year and it is flat out SMOTHERED in hate.

I agree with OP, not only why all the hate but have any of you people read the definition of a BUSY BODY. Why do you care SO much about what other people do with their lives? I can understand when your neighbor gets some shit yap dog that is going to be barking and having an effect on your life, but when my neighbor buys and android phone it has ZERO impact on my life, I don't care.

Too many Android busy bodies out there. (like OP said not all Android users are like this, but damn why so many?)

Don't they make an mobile version of Ubuntu that you open source hippies like now?

Yea, they're doing something. I've been meaning to look into it, but haven't gotten to it yet. That phone they kickstarted would have been amazing, but they didn't get the money needed. I doubt the released Ubuntu phone is nearly as amazing.

I want a a full real desktop, and have access to the full Debian/Ubuntu repos, on completely unlocked, and as libre as possible hardware. I'd pay $1,000 for that phone.

That's no where close to a StarTAC!

What I loved about the StarTAC is that it was an extremely wearable phone. It's matte black finish and included holster seemlessly disappeared in to my slacks. It's lone green LED the only indication that I had anything technological on my body. When it rang or vibrated, a quick press of one of the side buttons silenced it. Answering and ending calls were very natural and could be done quickly and easily.

Vader, RAZR, TimePort and all the clones that followed were pale imitations of the gold standard in mobile communication of the late 90's. In a way, I miss it a lot.

My thought is Apple users just like it because it's Apple and cannot defend most of their choices for choosing it vs. Android these days. This is why they don't take it seriously - many don't even know the differences or don't care if it's inferior. Android fans should just let them be... leave the horse alone. I know people who can't wait to get the 6+ (still)... meanwhile all this time they could've had the Note 3. And how much are they paying for the privilege? I just let them be happy because I'm not going to argue with a lady friend who couldn't care less.

My brother (CZroe) had a Note 3. He got an iPhone 6 Plus at launch.

...and why do people always imply that the latest iPhone costs more than the latest flagship Android phone? It just isn't true.

I have only paid for 1 iPhone so far, my first one (the 3GS) since then I have never paid for an iPhone through either high resale value or promo's I've gotten every one of them free after that. thank you Verizon for my free 6 BTW

Apple has really fallen behind. They are just copying features from phones and other OSes nowadays and calling it original.

Case in point, the 6 Plus. It looks like a Samsung Galaxy Note 3. How soon before Apple gets sued for having a similar looking phone?

Compare a white GN3 to a white iPad mini.

Not sure if trolling, serious, sarcasm, or a mix of all three. :hmm:

What was the reason for the upgrade and why pay hundreds for it? Why not the Note 4 if upgrading based on tech specs?

I can't find a single thread where both he and TPF posted. Which isn't unusual, necessarily, but more than a few of his posts read like theflyingpig's...

anyway, I like his style even if he isn't.

Ha, I've never, ever seen a Blackberry or Windows phone zealot. Sure, there are people who prefer lumia to apple, but I've never seen anyone resort to bitter name calling, or using boring and dated "isheep," "you're holding it wrong," taunts.
Oh, there are BB and WP zealots out there. As a Z10 owner, I frequent the flagship BB fan site, CrackBerry. They're desperate and even worse than Fandroids and iSheep. If Eric Schmidt gets spotted with a BlackBerry, it WILL and HAS BEEN making headline news over there with hundreds of article comments. And if there is any mention of Android or iOS, they'll be frantically clacking away on their physical keyboards, slagging off 'those lesser, non-working consumers' at break-thumb speed.

Never been called a f*g for preferring Coke over Pepsi
I have a former friend who is genuinely insulted when offered Pepsi as an alternative to Coke. Former.

It's more likely for an Android user to be sort of person that frequents technology sites than it is for an Apple user. Android appeals more to your sort of tech head user who has a Linux or Windows based PC. So I'd guess that is why you see more negativity towards Apple than Android in those venues; because a larger percentile of Apple users don't care about the raw technology or whether or not iOS is easily tweaked and more flexibly altered. They're not there to express their devotion. You'd have more luck finding them in YouTube comments or on Facebook....

Apple is more a fashion statement than a piece of technology to a lot of buyers. Like that loser you see wearing a pair of $500 Beats headphones that sound like garbage compared to a $100 pair of BDs or AKGs. They buy their products to look cool, not because of their enthusiasm for the hardware. That will get derision from some of the segment that are technology enthusiasts.

He got the iPhone hoping for a better user experience. We both complain about bad user experiences on our devices, but I think there's a bit more complaints on the Android side. I previously had the iPhone 5s. Overall, absolutely loved it.

I got to play with his Note 3 for a little bit after he wiped / updated it to the Kit Kat.

The reachability gesture on the Note 3 is incredibly difficult to activate. Even when it does work, the implementation is terribly useless. I don't know what Samsung was thinking.

EXACtLY! Why are they so frustrated about your choice! In fact, variety is awesome. If I found a slickdeal I'd give the square blackberry a try - stop having a bias! It'll keep you from enjoying things. If the galaxy s 6 is that curved glass beauty render then sign me up, until then my iphone's just fine, and i don't care about memory or sd card slots - i'll just upgrade for free every 18 months due to outstanding resale value and great accessories.

Samsung does that. I bought my dad a galaxy mega and was giving it the once over. so many features of questionable value, implemented poorly. I don't mean to knock on samsung, i own a tv of theirs. but instead of bloating the phone why not focus on less features but better execution? i'm shocked by how well touch id work, as an example.
