why so few Dual DVI cards?

With the popularity of LCD skyrockting, why dont the mainstream dual head graphics cards come with dual DVI? I want to run dual LCDs , but I cant do it with a new 9800 or 5900. Any ideas as to shy this is? Is anyone planing on making dual DVI cards based on these GPUs?

TaThat's because the usual graphics chips don't have twin DVI outputs. That'd require an additional chip on the card ... and since barely anyone uses the one DVI output offered, two would be a waste of money for 99.9 percent of customers.

I always been wondering the same thing. With LCD's becoming cheaper and more common place, companies should take atvantage of Dual-DVI Cards.

There's a few rare Geforces out there with dual DVI, but most of them seem to be GF?MX cards, which suck royally. There is only one GF4Ti card with Dual DVI (an ASUS) that I know of (maybe some OEMs have made more by now). ATI has the FireGL 4, Z1, and X1 cards which all have dual DVI, but those are more expensive workstation-class cards (i.e. US$400 to US$700 price range), which may not be to your liking. Matrox has the Parhelia, and their P650 and P750 dual-DVI cards (less expensive than the Parhelia, starting only at US$160 or so) will be available for purchase Any Day Now (TM).

Gainward makes a dual dvi GF4 Ti4600 as well.

I just wish ati would make a 9700 pro dual dvi. I'd be all over that.
