ive used one, but havent owned one.
while its a great product, i just dont see how one could justify pay for one, while there are cheaper mp3 players out there.
Why buy a 512mb ipod shuffle for $100, when u can buy a 512 mb sandisk mp3 player for $50 when they go on sale? (btw, ipods never go on sale, since apple requires a standard unflexible retail price all around the US.)
why buy a nano when there are cheaper solutions for similar storage capacity?
why buy a 30gb ipod, when there are cheaper solutions for similar storage capacity?
Right now mp3 players are just too expensive as a whole. one could buy a portable cd player for 20-30 bucks, if they were on a budget.
It makes all the sense to buy a cheaper mp3 player, since mp3 players are still pretty expensive and havent come down in price. (assuming you are buying an mp3 player that holds 512 mb or more of memory)
When good apple mp3 players (with a few gigabytes of capacity) become as cheap as portable cd players, then maybe ipods will become the standard for listening to music on the go.
