Why to commercials that show laptops always use an Apple?

Just wondering if anyone has an explaination for this. Seems like 99% of the commercials I see that use a laptop in them use an Apple.

Probably born out of the graphic design bias and the fact that most in Hollywood are too stupid to use a pc.

Movies and commercials are business. It so happens that Apple pays more than Dell or anyone else to have their product logo seen in commercials and movies.

Cause they're shiny. And every clueless person with an iPod will say "Wow, my iPod maker is even hip in the computer making!".

Oh, and all non-Apple monitors look like as* compared to them. I think my Dell looks nice, but it really is crap compared to any Mac monitor.

When movies want to go for the "high-tech" look, they use Dell XPS laptops. The tech guy in Ocean's 13 used a Dell XPS and Samantha Carter always uses a Dell XPS as well.

They are no better looking than any laptop pc. Personally, i find the desktops to be ultra shitty looking.

Seriously though Apple spends money to have their laptops featured. Movies as well. So many of the placements actually have the actor turn the machine so the logo is in the middle of the shot just below center.

Very true, but when I said the people he knows professionally, they are either actors, directors, or producers. He doesnt do anything with the editing side of things.

They just usually look better and are more 'hip'. Almost every movie uses them that I pay attention to also uses apple computers.
