Because that way Bush can pretend like he is doing something about terrorism, without offending "our friends the saudis" who are really behind most of the wahabbi terrorism. If 15 Russians took down the WTC in the 1980's, a nuclear war would break out, and the world as we know would end. But when 15 Saudis take down the WTC, not a single Saudi hair is touched in response. Instead Bush is sitting in the Best Little Western Whitehouse in Texas and cuddling up with the shameless Saudis who have still not even been humbled.

Uh, there's a little fact you're forgetting outside of the slight suspicion of Saddam's involvement in the WTC. It's that small little bit about him building up tons of nukes, not allowing our weapons inspectors in, and oh yeah, he hates the US. Who's the first target for all those nukes, you think?

For most other dispatches, it seemed like a clear motivation- Iraq attacks kuwait, Kosovo/Somalia genocides, WTC... but this time, i'm a bit confused...
We could tell them the day, exact time, and path our forces would take and they still couldn't do a damn thing about it. Unleash the Air Force for a couple of days and the place would be in ruins. Then it's time to roll in the tanks and infantry and clean up. Of course we will play nicey nice and not bomb the hell out of them like needs to be done. God if we only had some modern Generals like Patton who didn't give a rat's ass about public opinion and know that you cannot take half measures in war. This is exactly what ive been wondering for the last month or so...also if we are going to attack sadam whats hte point of telling the whole freakin world let alone him before we attack....i suppose right now hes just loading up all his missiles with whatever hes been hiding....Good move america

And we don't use our Nukes and Chemical Weapons on other countries? Get real, we're just as bad as anyone else. We just hide it because there's too much at risk with our Consumer Society.

:Q
Since when have we used nukes or chemical weapons since, say WWII? I know we did limited chemical experiments on our own citizens and we (justifiably) bombed japan, but what else?
Are you new, or something? Why we bombing Iraq this time?

Even the people here defending the attack, they have no clue because Bush hasn't even given reasons except to say he's a "threat"!

Everyone's confused.
Speak for yourself. Seems to be a common state for you.

Actually, it's patently obvious why he's a threat to the United States and to peace in the Middle East. Since it is so obvious, and you cannot see it, then it's pointless to reiterate.
