Thank you, nothing in France is final yet, will probably work on some of it today. I threw Monaco in there just for fun. Not really interested. Did read that Cannes film thingi starts May 14, about the right time for me, but the family member that loves film won't be with me. I don't even know what Saint Tropez is but will check it out. I'm letting the person I will travel with set most of the agenda. As I said, I'm happy right here in my kitchen. Nice is on the list because somebody wants to see the Mediterranean. If I want to see salt water the Pacific is just a few miles away. hehe

PS: LunarRay's the lucky one. He lives just a couple of 6 million dollar houses away from the beach.

PPS: On my tax dollar.
....

Yeah but... I've not been on the beach in probably 25 years. Heck, two years ago, I think, a retired Vet friend got eaten by a great white shark just oh... 30 meters from shore and directly west of my house... Dave Martin... I knew it was just a matter of time so based on that probability I don't take airplanes either.

I should be a bit more gracious to our tax paying forum members... It is directly from their pocket to mine and from there to the store which provides the nutrients of life... So, in essence, I enjoy the good life on their 'dime'. Well, yours too but I've already determined one check I receive comes directly from your pocket... and I do appreciate that... IF you don't mind, however, you might put a plug in for an increased COL so that I can get my lawn mowed weekly... it does get a bit shabby after two weeks... Oh... and the salt water has destroyed my weather vane... so... you know... find a way to get the forum members to cough up a bit more for my use... thanks...:whiste:

Moonbeam, you've clearly hit a nerve. I can't remember the last time I've seen so much impotent posturing. You've hurt their tender egos and they lack the self confidence and maturity to simply shrug and walk away. Instead, they're desperately trying whatever they can think of in their compulsion to hurt you back.

I don't recall any posturing in this thread. Though I do agree it's generally best to just ignore the foolish. But as with all annoyances, you reach a point that you choose not to tolerate it anymore. Moonie has achieved that status. He's been spewing his mindless blabber and non stop stream of insults for far to long. So rather than ignoring him we've begun mocking him for being an obnoxious fool, it's the only course of action open to us. I'm sorry if that offends you, but the situation is entirely of his making, and it could end just as quickly as it started, all he has to do is take your advice and ignore us.

I'm pretty liberal on many issues, and 'conservative' on others. I'm a pro-gun, pro-liberty guy. I support gay rights, I have mixed feelings on abortion, I support legalization of MJ along with decriminalization/moving the rest of the drug issue to a healthcare rather than legal issue (outside of dealing/distributing to minors, which should remain a huge offense), I support a massive restructuring of our foreign involvements to avoid foreign wars (I supported Afghanistan only in a strike on Taliban, but not occupation, and was against the Iraqi invasion to the max), etc.

I have MANY liberal friends. In fact, probably 2/3rds of my friends are liberal. I don't use the word as pejorative. And you know what? They're pretty split on what gun control should look like, or if it should be pursued at all.

Logic doesn't follow that being liberal means you want your rights to own firearms taken away. Sure some people are that way, but I find that the more people invest in learning the specifics about gun crime, that the folly of outlawing guns begins to shine through in so many ways.

If someone could wave a magic wand, and all the guns vanished from the continent, then maybe things would be okay for awhile. But the US is not like the UK, prohibition would be just as (in)effective as the bogus drug war. And does anyone really believe that criminals who own guns would voluntarily come turn all of them in? HAH.

Not everything is so simple. And nothing will ever be perfect. People will get murdered today, tomorrow, and next week, and next year, and every year round and round. Would gun legislation reduce those numbers? From everything I can see, the answer is no. The simple fact is that a person who wishes to commit murder will do so regardless, and disarming law abiding owners will make for even easier targets of crime.

I guess I should thank taxpayers as well as 45% of my worldwide travel was paid for by the taxpayers. Another 50% was on the company's clients dime. The last 5% (mostly Indonesia) was using frequent flyer miles earned while traveling to/from client's plants.

This statement speaks to a guilt about your own money. It wasn't her fault, she tried, you know. I still want to hear that you called her and told her you forgive her.

No doubt. But that's why writers have editors. Writers are traditionally incapable of assessing their own prose objectively.

Though I do agree it's generally best to just ignore the foolish.
Case in point: posturing.

But as with all annoyances, you reach a point that you choose not to tolerate it anymore.
Some people reach that point, certainly. The guy who screams at the noisy kids at the next table in a restaurant has reached that point. The guy who rams someone who's cut him off in traffic has reached that point. Well-adjusted, mature adults don't reach that point, however. They maintain control of their behavior.

Moonie has achieved that status. He's been spewing his mindless blabber and non stop stream of insults for far to long. So rather than ignoring him we've begun mocking him for being an obnoxious fool,
LOL! Do you (collective you) really think your flaccid jabs are hitting him? You are kidding yourselves about who's the mock-er and who are the mock-ees. MB has owned you ... hard.

it's the only course of action open to us.
Really? The only course? Should I call 9-1-1 because you have a gun to your head? Are you so mentally limited that you literally cannot see the near-infinite number of other actions you could take? Do you realize the forum has an "ignore" function if you are truly so incapable of self control?

I'm sorry if that offends you,
Offends me? You take yourself much too seriously. I find it amusing the MB can pull your strings so effortlessly. As I said, he's clearly struck a nerve with some of you, rubbing your noses in your own absurdity.

but the situation is entirely of his making, and it could end just as quickly as it started, all he has to do is take your advice and ignore us.
No, sorry, that's revisionist history. You're yet again failing to assess your own comments objectively. It was not MB who first responded to you. It was you who attacked him, in your very first post in this thread:
"And our village idiot starts yet another troll thread. ..."
That's all you, baby. Perhaps this is a good opportunity for you to reflect on just why Moonbeam has so much power over you.

Well said, sir. I think Prohibition is a very good analogy to many of the gun control measures. When demand is so high and supply (in the U.S.) effectively unlimited, prohibition efforts deny reality.

Let's say Mr. Telgin parachutes down to earth one day and takes up residence. Upon touch-down, he immediately acquires an inalienable right to defend himself, his family, and his possessions via any means available. This is a basic human right. To have that right taken away by some ill-advised, self-proclaimed do-gooder is against every rational thought process. It makes no sense to a rational person.

Ah ha! I knew I remembered you from somewhere. You made the exact same accusation just over a year ago:

You're very butthurt over me for some reason; probably some long-lost grudge harbored over something I've never thought about again, but you got quite sore over. Well, get over it and stop crying.

Sweetie, I know reading is hard, but you didn't have to go back a year to find me accusing you of stalking Dave. All you had to do was actually read the comment to which you replied, where I called you out for it again. You have that habit with certain people that get under your skin; you stalk them from thread to thread, attacking them whenever they comment. It's pretty pathetic and suggests you have significant issues.

And as far as me carrying a "grudge" for you, are you an only child by chance? No matter what your mommy told you, you are not the center of the universe. The fact that I've called out your defective behavior only twice in a year suggests you're way, way down on my gives-a-shit list.

Buh bye.

I'm curious, twit for brains, what in my comment you quoted has even the slightest thing to do with Moonbeam? You know, because based on the words actually in it, it seems to be about Doppel and Dave. You continue to have a habit of making profoundly stupid comments, based on nothing beyond your partisan cheerleading for "your side". You should really work on keeping your drivel to yourself, and only posting if you have something useful to say.

I like it. First, I'm not a fan of gratuitous vulgarity. It shows a weak mind and lack of English skills. It should be reserved for extra emphasis. Second, I think "twit for brains" accurately reflects my disdain for some people's missing intellect and reasoning capabilities. I don't use it with everyone -- you, for example -- because it takes a certain consistency of blatant stupidity before I drop someone in that category. You, on the other hand, weren't being stupid. You were simply in denial about your interactions with MB. (Though I will note you didn't even try to address my response, opting instead for the same empty posturing you've used with MB. I guess that means I've owned you as well, thought not nearly so thoroughly as Moonie.)

My gratitude for your additions to this thread but it makes me sad to see all the shit throwing apes now going after you. I didn't want to own them, they did that for me. My intention is to demonstrate what the conservative brain defective do when one addresses them like they address others. The first reaction they have is to blame others for their behavior. They aren't nice to others who post here, but boy do they demand it from them. They say they are tired of me, but I think they turn this forum into garbage. I just have this sense of justice that says they shouldn't have all the fun.
