I do not know about the defogger kit. I know it works. I have never done it and never had problems overclocking. Some say it will last forever. I forgot to ask earlier. What is the voltage you are running. That is the only thing that I can think of. You might need to up it. I hate to say it but if you already have the voltage at 1.85 and you are still getting the no boot screen, it might be all your cpu will do. Most of the durons max out between 850 and 1ghz. Most do not go 1ghz. It could be the pencil so you could retry but it sounds like you found the limit of the cpu. sorry

i dont think i hit the limit at all, i just suck at drawing lines on microscopic dots. i drew the lines back on and im trying again. do i need to connect the L7s for a voltage increase? i had the voltage at 1.8 when i started, but i have a feeling i missed a few connections the first time. ill post again when i try to start the computer.

If you connect the L7 bridges, then the CPU will run at 1.85v. (The L7 bridges determine the "default" voltage that it will tell the mobo that it needs.)

simple. you need better cooling...next take the cpu to 900. set the voltage to 1.725v

make sure your cas3 on your ram

then boot...

i dont need better cooling, ive tried to explain that. i have a lot of overkill with the cooling. i figured out some of the problem though. i got the CPU to register at 1.15GHz....it isnt stable, but it got there. i think what happened was i didnt do a very good job on the bridges. but it didnt stay that way...after a few reboots i think the graphite in the pencil "burned" and it will only go back to 8.5x100 instead of 11.5x100. i guess i need to use a conductive pen or something...

also, i made a BIG mistake on my mobo. i bought a blorb for the chipset, and i ripped the thermal tape and its sh$t now...so i tried to superglue the edges of the chipset and use arctic silver in the middle...well the superglue didnt hold and now the bottom of the blorb and the chipset have glue that wont come off...how do i get this stuff off? also, how do you get arctic silver off of stuff? i got it stuck on the blorb also.

Thanks in advance

Wipe off all you can with a dry paper towel, or rag, then use either rubbing alchohol, or acetone to remove the rest. Acetone may remove the super glue, too. Use some caution if you use the acetone. It will take off the plastic-like coating on the CPU's core, but I've noticed no adverse side effects to this. Alchohol may be the safest bet, but doesn't work as well. You can, however use the acetone liberally on the heatsink- it can't damage that.

If acetone doesn't remove the super glue, try laquer thinner. Be very careful with this, as it's pretty flammable. I don't think you want it around your motherboard either. Just use it on the blorb.

Consider Arctic Silver thermal adhesive for the chipset. It holds your heatsink on, and conducts heat.

cooling is not a problem. i have 2 YSTech 120mm fans blowing on my chip, 1 in, 1 out, and then 4 more high output 80mm sunon fans, 2 in, 2 out. inwin q500. i have an external thermistor. it is reading around 35 to 40 degrees.

the good news is i redid the bridges with a 5H pencil and it works. currently im at 1050MHz and no lock up yet =)

any suggestions at what i should download to help this thing run cooler? i heard of a program called rain...does it work?

also, what is prime95?

Thanks in Advance
