Why wont my HD STFU!?!?!?!

I CANT TAKE THIS!!!

Ever since installing XP, my HD sounds like it is defragmenting itself 24/7. Well, maybe not 24/7, but WAY TOO MUCH, even when I'm using the system! Soon as I move the mouse or use the keyboard, USUALLY, it stops...

Task Manager shows System Idle Process at 97% whenever I CTRL/ALT/DEL.

NE1 else want to shoot there HD because of this??

BTW edit: I'm a technician, this is my work computer, it's about a foot away from my ears on my desk, with the side off of course...

That does make some sense as I just took some out to add to another machine

If you could hear this thing you'd be upset too.
Just dont want my HD to die on me. (as you can tell from my previous post)
