I'm by no means a gun advocate, but that's the dumbest reason to not own one if I've ever heard one. There's quite litterally millions of other ways to harm yourself or other people without the use of a gun. Don't move into a house that's near a cliff, you never know what you might do if something goes bad in your life and you decide to do a stupid thing!

I'm going to humor you, because I'm a girl and the mood is right.

Millions of law-abiding Americans own a gun or guns for decades without ever reaching for it in anger. I grew up with guns in my father's house, and I was raised with a healthy respect for the damage it can do. No one in my family ever threatened/committed a violet act towards any one.

Hey, here's a thought: why don't you tell us where you're from, and we Americans will tell you what kind of whacky stories we've heard about your country? I bet they'd be about as accurate.
