I can't stand how ignorant it all sounds. aiiight? fo'sho..G

and then you have every grade schooler everywhere starting to talk like that.

Bill Cosby had it absolutely right a couple of months back when he stated how disgusted he was at the ignorance running rampant...imho rap music perpetuates the ignorance.

Reasons to hate rap:

They talk weird
All rap is negative
All rap sounds the same
Rappers are stupid

You get the idea

I don't personally like rap, but I don't hate it either. It has its moments.

That being said, I don't think rap is any worse than than those "stupid" head baggin' hard rockers that yell and scream and are unintelligible. All I hear is bla bla yah yah YYYYYEAAAAAAH SCREAMTOTHETOPOFMYLUNGSANDJUMPAROUNDANDSCREAMSOMEMORE!!!!

well said! so what do you like Xionide? i realize this is OT forums, but there are better ways to use your time than making hate threads. Do as you would be done by. and i personally think rockers are equally dumb and clownish if not worse sometimes.

I mainly listen to rap. But I dont like 99% of whats on the radio. I prefer the dayton family, 3-6 mafia, andre nickatina, bone thugs. Its sad the the popular rappers have tainted rap music. 36 mafia is some of the most violent music ever. They talk about all the sh!t you guys have been saying you hate in this thread. The reason I listen to it is because they have great flow. Something that does take talent. I listen to gangsta rap for the same reasons I play violent video games, its entertaining. Why? I dont know, it just is. I also like a lot of other music too. modest mouse, system of a down, bloodhound gang. I like bands who have a really interesting sound. My favorite artist of all time is aphex twin. I listen to a lot of electronica too. The only thing I truly hate is country music. Its the most vial horrid music on this planet. I would rather be stabbed in the eye with a salted fish hook then listen to one minute of that crap.

That about covers it for me too.
Except for the BOLD part.

The rap these days ... is not very good. They have nothing to talk about, I thought Eminem might be getting the rap business somewhere but then again... he started doing that mainstream crap and yelling UH UH UH UH UH in his songs.

That doesn't make him any different from Lil' John that only knows 4 words, "yea... thats rights.... ok"

Xionide you just went up 10 cool points with me. Country music sucks ass and I hate that sh!t. On the other hand I love hip hop and always have. It's even more satisfying to turn it on around people that hate it to further piss them off since their music is so vastly superior.

I listen to a hip hop station in the morning for the morning show. My fiancee listens to a little rap (I'm trying to make her understand it's crap). Rap takes NO TALENT. Like I said, they're nothing but a bunch of uneducated fools who don't understand that "ain't" and "shizzle" are not words in Websters dictionary. They have no talent; no skill, nothing. If not for rap, they'd all be sitting on the bathroom floor in some random gas station smoking crack. In some cases, even with their "success" (lol), they still find a way to go back to their roots.

On top of that, they don't make their own music. They have to rip from Sting (see "puffy daddy") and other successful artists because they don't have the ability to write their own music. It's pathetic, really.

So you listen to the stuff on the radio. Did you read my post? Either you're stump dumb or a troll.

I just don't think people should get rich just by throwing crappy rhymes together. Sure there are some really good lyricists who deserve the rewards, but 80% of the genre consists of no-talent hacks.

At least in rock no-talent hacks can at least play an instrument, which takes more learning than rhyming.

Most of them make up what they are saying.

Like when Ja Rule first came out, he was all "hard". Then he started to rap about his lady's and how much he loves them. But once people started to call him soft the little sh!t wanted to act all "hard" again.

The whole genre is based upon someone dressing up like a thug shouting out rhymes that they seem to make up on the spot to a drum synthesizer and stolen snippets of GOOD songs. That's music??????? It makes me angry that such no-talent hacks are so popular while genuinely talented musicians are being shown the door at record companies.

One great story about two worlds of music colliding is when I read on interview with the famous guitarist Jimmy Page some months back. He was talking about making the song Come With Me with P-Diddy. Jimmy, being a 40+ year music veteran, told a story about how they were going to perform live on Saturday Night Live, and that since they had never played it live before it would probably be a good idea to drop the song into the key of E to give it a better flow and to make it easier to sing. P-Diddy responded "Uhh...I don't know nuthin' about no E's man. Just play it." Ugh, and this guy has more money than God now :|

Things I don' t really care about rappers:

1) Call/treat women as "whores, bitches"
2) Shooting and stabbing whenever they have a disagreement with other rappers (Tupak/BIG, Knight/Dre)
3) Screwing around and making babies after babies with different "bitches/whores"
4) Acting like a hot shot/thug with all the money even they are not

2) Twista
3) Ja Rule (though he ocassionaly has a good club hit)
4) <FILL IN THE BLANK>

*** This list is likely to grow =)

In P-Diddy's defense he did get rich by selling crappy clothes and being a bad actor too Anyone see Monster's Ball? Compare his performance to that of Mos Def in the same film. *shakes head*

Head baggin'...is that like T-bagging?
I love hard rock...but I wouldn't consider a band that screams a lot, hard rock. I'd call em metal more than likely. Finger Eleven = some quality rock music. I'll be seeing them tonight at the house of blues with Local H. Woot!

"Anyone from GUNIT"

lol...where do I began to dismantle you?

1. That's not how you spell it
2. If anything, G-Unit has some of the realist rappers out there....they live that life style STILL today

*Side Note*
Ever heard of "The Game", he's new to G-Unit and has two banging hits on the radio right now and his album drops in 2005, I know him personally, he grew up in Carson, CA and moved to Comptom, he still dresses the same and acts the same, just before he signed his contract, this guy was on the streets looking for 90cents to get some chips and now look at him, PAID and STILL gang bangin' with a red rag hanging from his pocket on stage (for those who don't know, yes, he is a Blood and most of G-Unit) and for those of you who do not understand "gang bangin", whether the concept or lifestyle, please do not try to, you never will.....point is though, put him and 50 against anyone in a battle...no one can touch those two. Period.

3. Listen to the words...not the beats ;D
4. Listen to their underground stuff before all their "mainstream" songs hit the radio or CD. Those songs are made to appeal to a wider audience, while at the same time staying grimy and real, but it just doesn't come out as good as their underground stuff that you DO NOT HEAR ON THE RADIO...all that's stuff is just for show and to make money
6. Got any questions?

Nuff said.

Edit: I pretty much, for the most point, agree with the rest of your list.
