Wierd Graphical Anomaly

Hey.

I've had this for a long time, but havnt thought much about it until now.

Let's take World of Warcraft and Far Cry as examples. Mountains/hills and plants/trees change shape when i move and turn. Anyone have any idea what's causing this and why? And how to make it go away?

Appreciate any suggestions.

I dont know about WoW, but in Far Cry this is deliberate.

It has to do with the polygon detail setting. The game automatically reduces the geometry details as you move away or turn away from objects.
This is done to help speed up rendering.

Try maxing out all your detail settings under Far Cry. This can be done more thouroughly outside the game, under the settings shortcut in the Far Cry folder.

If the game still runs smooth, congrats!
If not, then there was a reason the game automatically selected a medium or low setting for you.

NOTE: Unreal Tournament also has these settings under world geometry and dynamic mesh level of detail.

Actualy, autodetect detects high quality on everything.
