Just installed it today, running Win7 Pro 64 bit. Here is the odd stuff:

I click on Internet Explorer and nothing happens. Shows it as running in task manager, but nothing on screen.

I look at task manager, AnyDVD shows as running but doesn't show in task tray

I run iTunes64Setup and nothing happens onscreen. It shows as running according to task manager, but nothing onscreen.

Wierd stuff. Any ideas?

OK, now you're confusing even me! <G>.

Do you have the 32 bit or the 64 bit version of Win 7 Pro installed?

OK, getting out pry bar and trying to get more information . . .

Yes, I realize it comes in both versions. Do you have both installed? On the same computer, but different partitions or drives? Or on two separate systems.

Give us some info on your hardware (MB, Memory, HDD, etc.)

It's a single Win7 Pro x64 system.

I figured it out though, some driver was causing a registry lock that was blocking out all 32 bit applications. So 64 bit apps would run fine, but 32 bit apps wouldn't. Wierd stuff.

Sorry, this "64 bit win 7 has both 32/64 bit versions" was supposed to read "64 bit win 7 has both 32/64 bit versions of Internet Explorer on it"

Good catch!

I was going to suggest exploring that avenue as I had some weird settings after I upgraded my main computer Monday (32-bit). For some unknown reason, when in Windows Explorer, the left column would show all the normal sections that it should, but the one titled "Computer" didn't show any of my local drives.

In plundering through the Registry and GPEDIT.MSC, I was able to locate a setting under User Configuration that was blocking the display of all drives. I could see all of them under Disk Management, and I could access them just fine if I manually typed a location into the Address Bar. I stumped Microsoft support for two days on this one, and finally had an inspiration on the way to work Wednesday morning and started thinking along the lines of "Hidden" instead of "Missing", and from there it was just a matter of finding the unintended setting.

Microsoft still can't tell me how just going through an upgrade from Vista Business to Win 7 Pro would cause this . . . but it is fixed, and we will have to be happy with that for now <sigh>.

<BTW>, I knew that both versions were on the DVD, but I wasn't aware that you could get X64 to run with the x86 version of Internet Explorer. How did you manage that? And also, just out of curiosity, why did you downgrade it?

when you launch Internet Explorer, it's 32bit, but if you launch Internet Explorer 64 bit, it's 64bit

OK, today's not a total waste . . . I learned something! Now I've got to find some time to go back and play with it.

Thanks!
