Obviously the OP didn't realize that his wife also had a job... his job is to make money, her job is to spend it.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I think the OP is just as stupid as the stupid bitch he married.

I make $60k a year. That should be enough to pay our bills.

Dude it should be! My dad made less than that and supported a family of 6 without problems... what does it all get spent on???

Durocshark, I do suggest you check where the money went. Your direct deposit might have not showed up?

I got married about 18 months after living in Japan for almost four months. I noticed that almost all the Japanese married men give their paychecks to their SO to run the household. I thought that this was a good idea and still do. I am so glad that I ASKED my wife to take care of all the financial paperwork and bills so I do not have to worry about it and she was glad that I let her do it. I did ask my SO to have a ATM card with at least $500 bucks in the till to buy food(I do the cooking) and to buy other misc stuff. I figure that if she asked for a divorce and left me dry - I know that I can survive moneywise. It would be my two kids that I would worry about the most and knowing my wife(we have been happily married for almost 16 years), she would not spend money unwisely on herself except for the kids.

That is why I will never have a joint account or credit card. I dont care how much we love each other.

Never share anything, not even w/ your wife. That's my motto.

Man you must be stingy with the bowls and jays then.

Get away from my bong ribbon, I swear to god I'll blow your fvcking head off!

My wife does the bills and I never really see it but she's good at that. She uses a combination of MS Money to hook up to the bank account and credit card info and a big Excel Spreadsheet she makes up her own budget and such.

Definitely work with the bank though and talk to an actual Financial planner (or just send your wife).

Make sure you take her debit cards and such too if you're worried about her just using those.

You sound like this guy i know that confiscated his wifes checkbook.
If u live in chicago i can gurantee your name starts with an "A"
His wife normally pays by check at my salon, i have a seperate account on the side for checks when customers do pay by check.
Anyways to make a long story short, i accumulated about 300 dollars worth of checks from her, all within 3 weeks.
They got into an argument and when i did deposit the checks, "the husband" put a hold on all the checks she wrote to me.
I knew this because the checks when returned to me said "held funds" not insufficient funds.
Needless to say all the bounced checks made my account negative and i didnt check on the account for a month.
When i did check i was -568 dollars after all the fees for insufficient funds.
I still owe the bank -568 and have sent a subpeona out to this dude already.

Moral of the story is
Men get your women in check and if it ever does get to this point.
You need to reevaluate your relationship.
