You shouldn't assume that you know exactly how I mean something that I wrote quickly on a forum. As I'm sure you realize, it's difficult to properly convey ideas, feelings, and even just good natured generalizations. This is a post about computer cases and not relationships, though, so I'll make it quick. My wife and I recently graduated college. We both have nice jobs, but there might be more economically sound things to invest in than a new computer. Thus, my saying that she "is being generous enough to let me build a new machine" is my way of saying, I'm really glad she's considerate enough of my desire for the new hardware that I hope to be considerate in return by taking her opinions into consideration. No dominance (hers or mine) and no one is mail-ordered. We just make sure that we make the decisions together and consider each others feelings. She's known I've wanted to do this for a while, but I've been holding back because of finances. On her own, she said that for my birthday (coming very soon), we'd find the money to create a machine that I really want (if the GF4 is at a good price point by then).
Whether this makes sense or not, I just thought I'd elaborate a little to let you see (more accurately) my reasoning for writing what I did.
Thanks for the recommendation on the Nikao cases. I showed her the NOBLESSE Series that you recommended, and she likes it far better than the Antecs I showed her before. Unfortunately for those who recommended the Kittie or Doggie cases from Nikao, she liked thos worse that she likes the Antecs. She just wants something rather simple that more or less blends in and isn't really noticed once it's set up and running.
