One thing I want to note that a mustang and vette are a bit more than a tune away from making comparable HP to my setup.

I was referring to those cars being a tune away from your other post where you said 400 WHP is enough. As in, I wouldn't want to do what you did but only settle for 400 WHP after going twin turbo knowing that every Tom Dick and Harry in a new anything is going to be a $90 tune away from that and out gunning for you before they even take their temp tags off.

mid 11's would be doable no?

I haven't really had time to take my car to the track -> I am a farmer and driving season = work season. Anyways, a fellow Z owner I met at my shop in chicago ran a 10.43 with about 100 less HP than my setup, but same turbo conversion. I think it was at about 440 hp. I would think your car has low 11's in it, no?

Probably not low 11's. The cam i put in is pretty small--and still running stock cylinder heads and intake. I would need to get them ported and a uch bigger cam--but its a DD so I traded a bit off.

LOL--I ll take thatas a compliment. I guess i have it pretty good--car with decent hp and a hot wife!!

nice car OP and wife for that matter. The rest of this thread seems like a boner fest with all of the contestants making fun of each others piece.

Yeah close huh?? Rear wheel drive car made in Australia with 400 hp from the factory. Yup its a Cavalier.

Wow, can't take a joke much huh? I see this thread has gone places.

It's a common remark when referring to the new "GTO" because many of the old school purists think it's more of an import over being a "GOAT". Honestly, I don't really give a shit either way. Good for you OP.

Cheap, reliable as a fork, parts everywhere, unassuming, can work on it blind folded, and more or less expendable.

For me it goes a little further that it was my first car that I've just kept all these years and it has never let me down and I have a small guilt complex with the idea of abandoning it or throwing it away.

Anything nicer like a M3 that would be a nice middle ground between the two and I'm in the same boat, it wouldn't be driven in monsoon weather or working where it would see short stop/start type driving all day, etc. Doesn't matter what else I have, a true beater is still required.

Unlimited or not, if you're putting a built motor and turbos into a newly purchased ~$20k car like a 350Z, you're already pretty commited. Might as well go to the finish line and not settle for holding your ground with stock cars that are most likely to be gunning for you, that's all I'm saying. Zivic needs to fix his traction issue once and for all and be happy that hardly anything new can touch him, not second guess himself for going too far and thinking that "just enough" would have been better.

Just sayin', you definitely have more of a budget limit than you imply.

And we all know you are the expert on everyone's budget, especially people you meet on the internet.

Go buy a car or do an engine swap or something already.

Only in ATG do we find pictures of a pretty woman making no difference to an e-weiner discussion.

Hmmm shes holding it wrong... two handed like a pistol? Ive never seen anyone actually hold an impact like that. Experienced impact users naturally have one hand on the grip and the other over the top

Or the non trigger hand cupping the snout pump action shotgun style to stabilize the socket and act as a brake by clamping down on the socket as you release the trigger. Otherwise you spit the socket and lug nut in random directions at high velocity since it accelerates and un threads violently once it breaks loose

It's an electric impact, uses high torque hammer impulses, constant torque is irrelevant.

Note the front half heavy looking metal snout cup, dead giveaway that it's an impact.

Might help if it had a battery in it!

APS twin turbo conversion. two GT28RS based turbos @ ~15 psi on 92 octane. made right about 550 and a little over 570 tq. this is on a 9:1 CR motor with a mild cam...

and

I have a 06 evo MR converted back to 5 spd (shep trans) with an FP red @ 33 psi on E85 making in the 530's

but hey, they're japanese, so they are rice

its the paint jobs and the drivers attitudes that make the cars rice. i have a healthy respect for a well done import speeder, they can be much fun. i also like the new gto, its a cool little car.
