WiFi Surveillance System Help on set up

Hello everyone! Thanks in advance for any help.
My husband and I just purchased a new system. We’ve had them before. This one is Wi-if, 8 channel. The primary use of this system will be for monitoring pregnant mares in the spring watching for signs of impending birth of foals.

The system claims “up to 500 ft” which is fine. But our problem is our barns have metal siding which seems to block the signal. Our house also has metal siding. The antennas on the cameras and the base unit twist on to a coax fitting. So we’re wondering if we can mount the camera in the appropriate spot, then attach coax cable to the camera for a short distance through a hole in the exterior wall and connect it to the antenna which would mount outside? We are wondering if we can do the same with the base in the house. Will this work, or do we need to buy additional equipment, add junction boxes, boosters and do some fancy programming to make this thing work?

i can't think of any reason it wouldn't work.

im a telecom engineer and can confirm this will work. if still does not, you can buy higher gain antenna then the one that's included in the kit. while it claim up to 500ft, you would be lucky to get 50ft in the city.
having said that, i would never use a wireless system. too many interference. so try your system for 30 days and return it immediately for refund if it's not up to expectation. the best camera system uses cat 5 cables and this is something i always recommend to businesses.
