I don't understand the Wii thing. Most of the people I know that have one rarely play it (preferring rather X360, PS3, PC, etc) - yet they keep flying off the shelves for some inexplicable reason. Do people just want one to say they have one? I mean I go to Gamestop and look at the wall of Wii games and laugh. I can't believe some of the crap that gets put out. And Wii sports gets old after an hour or so.

The thing I can't understand is WHY there is such a shortage of these things after not 1, but 2 holiday seasons! You were able to buy PS3s and 360s easily and regularly not too long after the first holiday season they were released, if not durring. Why the hell can't they make enough of these things?

It costs less than an iPod, HAS MOTION SENSING, is significantly smaller, and is more socially geared (better local networking), and has widgets (channels) you can install for things besides gaming - like news, weather, etc.... xbox and PS3 don't have that. They cost more and are strictly gaming systems. The fact that the Wii costs less, provides a more active role with motion sensing, and is more than just a gaming system makes it cross boundaries to a lot of people that normally wouldn't be interested in gaming.
