the nyko one doesn't look as clean (esp with the back covers)

do you know if this one powers the controllers when the wii is off or in standby?

Awesome... I wonder why no one sells four packs. It's always DIY.

thanks for clarifying

the nyko one and some other brands do not do this (they don't charge the wii remotes) when the wii is in standby or off

Anyone want to sell their extra battery? I have all four Wii remotes and if I order two I don't want to be stuck with six batteries. Considering that I often will not be using more than two remotes, the ones that will alternately charge will be like spare batteries and will reduce the usage of the others (whichever ones get turned on with the Wii get enumerated at 1-X player).

Oh wait... it looks like I'd need an extra couple battery covers too for this plan. Does anyone know if I can order those?

Got mine you dont need to take off the straps. Just move them to the front and cram it in the charger.Works perfect.

I don't get it.

Each dual-remote dock comes with three batteries and two remote battery covers. I have four remotes (the maximum) and by buying either one or two of these I'd either end up with one too few batteries or two too many.

Considering that this battery is "extra" for most people, I was hoping to score one off someone to combine with my three to make FOUR batteries for FOUR remotes.

I intended that they would simply alternate which remotes I use and which I charge with the same dual-remote dock, considering that all four are rarely used at once and never for extended periods.

I then realized that sharing the charger would not work due to the other two remotes not having the custom battery caps that can be charged through. This prompted my next question to the owners of this set: Can you order replacement battery caps? If so, how much and what does shipping cost?

Please check your manuals.

Edit: Oh, and that thing about enumeration was just saying that it's easy to manage four remotes with a dual charger because whichever remote you pick up first becomes Player 1, second becomes Player 2, and so on as you activate them (press any button). Well, that works if you've done a proper pairing on all of them and not just a "guest" pairing (as many people mistakenly do).

Ah, claro!

But looking at their product description, it says that they only come with two battery packs:

Save the hassle and money of buying new battery packs. Especially when you are in the middle of playing your favorite Wii Games! The included rechargable battery will provide you with 20+ hours of game playing time. To recharge your Wii Remote, simply place your Wii Remote on the charging dock, it will be charged from USB cable using modified battery cover provided.

Include
Wii Remote Dual Charging Dock
USB Connection Cable
(2) 1800 Mhm Rechargeable battery packs
(2) Recharge enabled battery cover

(*)The remote is not included.

Regardless, I plan to buy two.

Edit: Hit submit too soon.

the extra cover and battery confused me two so I did read over the description. At worse I'll get 2 of each (which is what I want/expect). At best there would be 3 of each and I'd have an extra set.

mine arrived today.

2 rechargeble battery packs (not 3) come per package, to clarify for everyone.

Just to let everyone know it does charge the remotes if the system is on standby but not if the system is turned off. I just got it yesterday and had to try it out.

Any reason one couldn't just plug a 5v supply into the dock?

Thanks for all the clarification. I thought I got that impression from here or from the Monoprice comments, but I see that it came from the thread title considering the second one "extra"
