Hey guys,

So I finally scored a Wii from Gamestop after all this time. Now I'm wondering what to hook it up with. I plan on hooking it to my Dell 2407WFP (which has connectors for like nearly every standard known to god) and my Z5500 set. The question is, what are the cheapest cables I should use that would provide me with the highest quality audio/video (I assume I will need 2 different cables here)? I don't care about quality differences unnoticable by the human eye but I would like the cable to have pretty good quality construction (don't want anything that might fall apart but I've heard Monster cables are overkill). Thanks!

Doesn't the 2407FPW have a component input? That's what you should be using.

Thanks for the responses, guys! Just out of curiosity, since my monitor won't be anywhere near my Z5500's sub, do I need 2 cables (1 for audio, 1 for video) or should I be doing something else so that I can have both audio and video?

Also, if I DON'T go with the nintendo one, what other alternatives do I have? Or is that the best quality/price wise?

Thanks again for all the help!

You're going to want the Wii component cables as mentioned already.

These are the ones that I use for my Wii and they work great. I don't see a need to get the more expensive ones.

I use my Wii with an LCD HDTV and z5500s. What I would do in your case would be this:

Get RCA/3.5mm Y-splitter such as this one: Link

That is a little short so if you don't have one already get something like this to extend it: Link

Perhaps you can find a longer audio cable that would work out so you wouldn't have to use two of them.

So you can just use that to hook up the red/white from the component cables above to one of the three stereo inputs to the z5500s. (Make sure you flip the switch on the back of the control center to "Stereo 1-3" from "6 ch direct")

This is probably the only way you can connect your Wii to the z5500s since the Wii doesn't have any optical or coax outputs. You can of course still get the benefits of Dolby Pro Logic II with this connection and thus fully utilize the 5.1 system to Wii's capabilities.

Edit: Oh and it doesn't really matter how far away your sub is, since you'd be connecting it to the control center. Unless of course you keep them close to each other. I have my control center close to the tv and the sub near the corner of my room.

Ooohh... so it's the control center that gets connected... (I don't have my speakers yet, waiting for shipping). I see... so I might not even need an extender if I place it close enough. Thanks for the help!
