So when are you going to prove you were in the Navy and in theater during the 1982 Lebanon war? I guess option 3 is the correct...you're nothing more than a lying sack of shit.
Are these legal scholars experts in Military law? Manning swore he would comply with the UCMJ, he failed to do so. He will pay the price.
He will still be in solitary confinement in the maximum security section. Leavenworth is no waltz in the park.
In fairness to Obama, he's probably not so much wrong* on Manning as merely unwilling to take the political heat to step in on the behalf of an admitted traitor. I seriously doubt that the Messiah has directed his gaolers to treat him thusly. Hopefully this will be adjudicated soon and Manning can enjoy his punishment rather than his incarceration.
*Wrong by the standards of those who normally support the Messiah; I personally have little concern for Manning and attach no stigma to Walks-On-Water for Manning's treatment.
Hat tip to Craig though for placing Manning (who damaged America and therefore its President, Obama) with Hitler's various would-be assassins, thereby equating Obama with Hitler.
I've never heard of this, yet the poster acts as though it's common knowledge.
Did Manning's actions directly result in aiding enemies of the United States? Was same foreseeable?
ask most that want manning dead who he killed, they can't answer.
The online leak of thousands of secret military documents from the war in Afghanistan by the website WikiLeaks did not disclose any sensitive intelligence sources or methods, the Department of Defense concluded.
Oh look, another clueless person that believes what he wants, not the facts! Shocking to find such a person on P&N, I know.
CNN
You got any links to show people died? I mean, even the DoD has admitted that it isn't as bad as the initial (false, misleading) reports.
I am not sure if you are agreeing with me or not here. I agree that there is a lot of COULD/MAYBE/WHO KNOWS but in the end our DoD says "it's really not an issue" and in none of these reports anyone is named that has been directly affected nor killed.
Ask a person on the street and on average they will say far fetched things like "it caused a whole PLATOON to be killed" "It gave Osama Obama's address" etc.
Also just because someone is named in the documents doesn't make them a target. Most named in these documents have already gone on record/news so are 'known'.
The main problem with wikileaks wasn't the danger to our country or soldiers, it was uncovering the rug on things our world leaders conspire together on.
Sorry, I took your post to mean that you believed that many people have died as a result of wikileaks.
I agree, now that the hysteria has died down, everyone admits this was embarrassing, but not dangerous. But most people just hear the initial hysteria and think that many people died, and nothing will change their views. The government has no reason to contradict this, since they want to make a lesson of this, and the more people that think this is a huge deal, the better.
Good news for everyone. I suspect that Leavenworth will be a walk in the park for him compared to Quantico. Marines tend to be a LOT harsher in their treatment of traitors than are the armed forces as a whole.Don't know. The constitution, yes. And paying the price comes after a trial, not before.
Looks like they're moving him:

Why on Earth would I need to lie about what you say when I can merely point it out and by comparison look extremely intelligent and reasonable? If you can't keep yourself from lying about what I say, and the history says that's the case, don't discuss what I say.
It really doesn't matter whether anyone has died due to the Wikileaks, Manning leaked classified documents which is a violation of the UCMJ. He will be tried on these charges and will be held accountable for his actions.

You really see absolutely no difference between someone who has admitted releasing classified documents (and why), granted he has not yet been convicted, and someone who doesn't even have access to classified information and is not under suspicion of so much as speeding?Of course, he isn't a traitor, since he hasn't been convicted of anything, and thus is just like you, an innocent person in the eyes of the law.
BERLIN — Germany’s parliament says its human rights committee is protesting against the conditions in which a U.S. Army private suspected of giving classified material to WikiLeaks is being detained.
A statement from parliament’s lower house Wednesday said committee members appealed in a letter to President Obama for him to ensure “humane” conditions for Pfc. Bradley Manning.
It says committee chairman Tom Koenigs wrote that his current detention conditions “are unnecessarily hard and have a penalizing character.”
Manning is being held in solitary confinement in Quantico, Va., for all but an hour every day. He is stripped naked each night and given a suicide-proof smock to wear to bed. Amnesty International says the treatment may violate Manning’s human rights.

M'kay . . .
A trial isn't even necessary for Manning, thanks to somebody on the internet who proved his guilt. Now he just needs to be tortured for a while and then executed by firing squad per the UCMJ. Manning will be used to set an example for others thinking about betraying the homeland in the future and make sure it never happens again. Of course those facts don't stop America hating
fascists from complaining.

No one is ignoring the law. Whenever his treatment has diverged from the law, a judge has smacked down the offending party. You may intensely dislike his treatment and see him as some sort of hero, and certainly an argument can be made that his detainment does not HAVE to be so harsh, but his treatment is NOT breaking the law. Far too many people are watching it to convince me otherwise.I see that under that law, he is innocent...do you know of some other law that says different?
Or do conservatives get to ignore the law since they know better?
