Will a Logitech Harmony RF remote solve my line of sight woes (pics included)

OK, I currently have an LG 60" HDTV, a cable box, and an LG soundbar sitting above my fireplace. Because of the position of the soundbar, I have to be standing up, pointing the remote down over the soundbar to the cable box which is sitting behind it to change channels (it's the only way I can fit everything on the mantle and have the soundbar centered).

If I get an RF Harmony remote like the Logitech Harmony Home Control with the IR blaster, will that solve my line of sight issues?

I currently have a Harmony 650 which controls the TV, the LG soundbar, and the cable box.

IR is not strictly limited to line of sight but that is making it difficult. Cable box to one side? Soundbar to top (angled down), or even below if it can withstand the heat? Still probably need the cable box moved foward though. Or... raise the telly a bit with material under the stand and put the soundbar in between it and the cable box. Better yet, mount it with a bracket so it can be angled down for better viewing.

1) Whoops, I could have sworn that I had posted the full images.

2) What's wrong with a TV over the fireplace? Otherwise, there's a 5-foot wide, 4-foot tall, 3-feet deep cut out in my wall (it was designed for those big-ass old tube TVs)

Fireplace won't even be used anyway. They're gas logs which I never turn on.

when tvs are over fireplaces, they are up higher, and you have to look up to watch tv. it should at least be angled down because you aren't even looking at the tv dead on when watching it from a couch. it puts a strain on your neck.

the viewing angle is also off so that can make the picture not look as good too.

ideally you want your head to be the same height as the center of the tv. above a fireplace it's nowhere near that.

as for your solution, an IR extender will solve the issue.

EDIT:

quick article about the cons to mounting over tv.

http://www.cnet.com/how-to/dont-mount-a-tv-above-a-fireplace/

and yes, if you're happy with it, that is all that matters since you are watching it.

Never had a sore neck from watching TV over the fireplace (we just moved into this new house, and we also had the TV mounted over the fireplace st our old house). The couches are far enough back from the TV that it isn't an issue for us).

That being said, I'm not gonna waste valuable wall space mounting it elsewhere/lower (especially with a toddler in the house).

Received my Monoprice IR blaster kit today. It works perfectly with my setup! Thanks for the suggestions!
