I have Afterburner installed right now, but I read that EVGA precision x will upgrade the gpu firmware.
Now these are old threads I read that in, probably on OCN.
Because I am using an EVGA GTX 780 SC ACX. (I know its old but what I have) it is an early in the cycle release, and has the 5-14-2013 VBIOS v80.10.36.00.80 and GK110 P2082 SKU 20 VGA BIOS according to GPU-Z.
Reading through owners club threads, there seemed to be some stability issues on the early vbios. I would like to either, flash a newer or preferably modded or hydro copper vbios onto it.
I have never used nvflash before, but I am still reading sources on how to use it.
Back in the time period, people were referring to nvflash v1.3.4 TPU has older versions from that time period but listed as 5.134.0.1 I am assuming this would be the version of the time since the dates align.
Read alot about the skyn3t bios and alot of info came from them. Is skyn3t still around?
Or who is the BIOS gurus these days? Seen quite a few names in AMD gpu threads but I cannot recall them.
TLDR: If I close AB and install PrecisionX1 or whatever current release is, is it able to update the cards firmware? Seems safest option. Then uninstall one or the other? What is the consensus also use Afterburner for the HWinfo64 overlay compatibility?
