Will Diablo 3 Come Out?

as much as I'd love to see a diablo 3 or starcraft 2,
Unfortunately I dont think we'll see any more single player strategy games being created by blizzard as long as they can still keep rolling off of the thunder that WoW has created.

yup, they made entirely too much money on D2 to simply let it go.

I'm looking forward to Hellgate London until I hear something real about D3.

een like 7-8 years since D2 came out, i would of thought it would have been out already. But, as mentioned already, they're probably just going to rake in the money from WoW for a long time.

Exactly. Blizzard canned Blizzard North, but not before most of the original team already quit. There isn't anybody left at Blizzard to make Diablo 3, so if they tried it'd be a horrible mess compared to what Hellgate: London will be.

Err...Hellgate London looks like a whole different genre than Diablo, i just googled it up not knowing what it was, and it looks like an FPS. Why bring it up when talking the Diablo series?

Its actually a rpg in fps point of view. You have items, no ammo needed, and everything is rolled on a dice including to hit percentage/damage/etc.

Its what D2 was, hack and slash.

Like Hacp said, it is an RPG with FPS elements, or vice versa. Also there are melee weapons that you use in 3rd person (I believe). The reason this is brought up when diablo is mentioned is because most of the team who made Diablo I/II left blizzard and are making Hellgate: London. It is supposed to be similiar to diablo, just with guns thrown in

And despite what others are saying, I will point out that it is only FPS if you want it to be, it is also third person, which is prefered for melee weapons. If you read what Bill Roper has said about it, and if you get the background of the team, you'll understand the comparison. It is the Diablo they always wanted, and these guys know Diablo better than anyone(they created Diablo ).

Diablo 3 wouldn't have any place in the series. It'd feel like a completely different game because the Blizzard North devs left to produce games like GW. Blizzard is more or less trash now. WoW and SC:Ghost (a lame level grind MMO and vaporware for consoles, yipee)... Blizzard died long ago.

The last job offering they had was for a dx10 engineer, which makes me assume not till the end of the year if not next year. The thing is, the game is already playable, they have lots of videos out. I wouldn't be surprised if they do it like painkiller and just release the dx9 version now, then when they do the expansion, have a dx10 upgrade.
