So, what does the collective brain cell of P&N think about chances of removal to Federal Court?

I’ve got some nice bubble hash ready to vape.

I pray they don’t move it to federal court.

He’ll never see jail and you know it, justice will not be served.
Kind of agree with this. IMO at best and assuming he’s proven guilty I bet the judge will say something to the effect “since we can’t house him in a normal jail without unheard of changes I’ll put him on house arrest” then the former President will just hang around his place in FL doing all the shit he’d normally do. Only thing he’d miss is flying on his plane but he’d just have people come to meet him.
Other judges will follow that lead and do pretty much the same.

But the judge could be another Cannon.
Actually there is only one federal judge covering northern Georgia that would hear the case if moved to federal court, appointed by Obama (U.S. District Judge Steve Jones), the same one that for now has rejected Meadows attempt to halt his criminal arrest in Georgia and push into federal court.
The main reasons for the push to federal court are to (1) try to assert complete immunity, (2) delay, and (3) move to a more favorable jury pool (northern Georgia is far redder than just Atlanta ~ including the district that elected MTG, for example).

I don't know that at all - what I do know is that I've been consistently right that he was going to be indicted despite people constantly and confidently predicting he wouldn't be.

Trump's cases are going to trial, he's going to lose, and the only way he escapes prison is through winning the presidency or death.

This is not a difficult prediction to make, same as the prediction he would be indicted to the gills was not a difficult prediction to make. Both are common sense.

If this ends up in federal court...AND if Trump gets elected, there won't be any need for a pardon...the investigations will disappear and any pending charges will be dropped.
No, the Georgia case would continue although any imprisonment for Trump would have to wait until his term in office was over.

Nope. IF Trump's team is successful in moving these cases to federal court, Georgia's charges will go away. (OR, it COULD just be a stall tactic)

They will not be successful - I mean a bunch of people already tried that and were immediately denied.

I'm not sure why people are so invested in concocting bizarre scenarios where Trump gets away with it. He's fucked and we all know it.

Well ..I admit that I'm surprised that things have gotten this far...but no one will ever convince me that he'll face any actual consequences if he's convicted.
Refer back to Spiro T. Agnew. Convicted while he was VP for bribery charges that occurred BEFORE he became VP. Never served a day.

Pretty much this.
I simply don’t think Justice has the stomach to jail a former President.
They’d likely accept a guilty plea with far reduced sentence but Trump will never admit to being wrong so that won’t happen.
I do wonder about the basic logistics of jailing him. He’s a former President. Does he keep his secret service detail? Should he keep them? How do you keep him from blabbering state secrets while in jail and so on.

No, the only charge Agnew was convicted of was tax evasion and that frequently doesn’t carry jail time.

When Trump is convicted at trial there is a 0% chance he is not sentenced to prison time. In addition, while Trump could be federally pardoned he cannot be pardoned in Georgia until he’s served time.

If I'm not mistaken, several of these charges have minimum sentences.

Regarding Trump himself, I prefer to think of this as the person is being charged, not the office. The govt is free to assign a new person to the head office of the executive branch, if one incarcerated is unable to fulfill their duties.
