I’m speaking more as he stays “Former President” obviously he’s not going to be milling around with meth dealers. President’s have an extra right to be protected does he keep his guards while in prison? Are those guards armed? Do they literally go everywhere with him? I assume the jail would allow him to have a private shower or would they? How do you keep him from blabbering state secrets? Who provides medical care? Can he still use the mail to write letters to the current President and people in his party? *I know historically former Presidents had the right to mail letters regarding the previous manner for free as in no stamp required, not sure if this is still practiced, I do know Bill Clinton would do that. Can party leaders and national politicians call or visit him whenever they need him for something? If I'm not mistaken, several of these charges have minimum sentences.
Regarding Trump himself, I prefer to think of this as the person is being charged, not the office. The govt is free to assign a new person to the head office of the executive branch, if one incarcerated is unable to fulfill their duties.
The basic day to day stuff. I am certain there is no contingency for such things I guess they’d be worked out while we all bicker about them.
