Will I see more performance out of a barton 2500 or a 2.4c

Are we talking about significant performance. Is it really worth the extra 90 dollars for the p2 24.c?

depends on what kind of board you use... if you go canterwood with that p4 you will see a difference that $90 might be worth... Then if you overclock it ... you will achieve a performance gap that even an xp3200+ won't match*

*on certain apps

I was considering and 865pe board (just a basic one)
vs
a basic nforce2 board.

I've done a bunch of research into this, since I was initially going to get a Barton 2500+ on an Asus A7N8X-Deluxe, but am now getting a P4 2.4C on an Asus P4P800 (865). I plan on overclocking, and the Intel appears to beat the AMD in all games, except in UT2K3 where the scores are essentially matched (when running similar speeds). Check out this review:

I just put my order for a P4 2.4c and a P4P800 today.

It was between that and the Barton 2500+ and NF7.
