I have i7 8700k cpu and I am soon upgrading to RX 6750 XT, Will there be any bottleneck? If so will there be noticeable difference in perfomance/fps. Don'f feel like spending on a new cpu for few fps loss.

From what I am reading, the 8700k will be a bit of a bottleneck at 1080p in Warzone 2, but overall should still give you a nice upgrade. Also keep in mind that the PCIe gen 3 on your motherboard will be a slight bottleneck as well for the GPU.

My advice: you could always buy the new GPU now, and try it out. And you can still have it for when you do a full platform upgrade later.

Another option, depending on what board you have, would be to upgrade just the CPU to a 9900k, if you can find one used for a good price. This would give you 2 more cores and the clocks a bit higher as well, without having to swap everything out. Though you may need to do a BIOS update first.

Personally, I would get the card first, and see how it does...

Good question! This will mainly depend on your resolution, but also which games you are playing, and what settings. Also, your cooling on the 8700k and the tweaks/OC, if any, will factor in.

Also, I am curious, what GPU are you upgrading from?

In general, I imagine the 8700k could be a bottleneck at 1080p, but at 1440p, this I am not sure, might be a tougher call. Again, will depend on the individual games and what setting you set as well.

Thank you for the reply.

My resolution is at 1,080p.
I am using some Deepcool Maelstorm single fan liquid cooler ( dont know which one exactly ), no OC.
I am upgrading from 1070ti.
Games: I do not play anything harder to run than Warzone (possibly The Finals that is coming out)

Warzone loves the AMD 6000 series. Gamegpu.ru has the 6700 XT performing right at 3070 Ti levels and the 6750 XT will add another ~7% over the 6700 XT to that. Even the 6600 XT outperforms the RTX 3060 Ti in it when the 3060 Ti is usually considered a 6700 XT competitor.
