Will Intel ever release a 'K' Sandy Bridge dual-core chip?

Just wondering. It would be nice to pick up a cheap P67 mobo like the MSI I just saw for $125, and then overclock the crap out of a cheap dual-core Sandy Bridge (with HT) chip.
Would remind me of the good old days of 775, buying a G31 board and an E5200 and clocking the crap out of it.

Considering 2500K already has better performance/$ than Phenom IIs, I don't see why Intel would want to release a cheaper unlocked SB with the same die size.

Even if there exists such a SB processor, there will be a cap at 5.7Ghz overclocked if they are using the same 57 speed bins. I doubt it is even possible for the said CPU to reach its maximum overclocking potential.

no if u need a dual core with overclocking, they expect you to pay more for a quadcore and disable 2 cores so you get what u want.

2500K is inexpensive enough. No need for a dual core variant to eat away at their sales.

All desktop SB processors without the K suffix will be Intel HD2000 only. The exception is that the notebook SB processors which are all equipped with Intel HD3000.

I don't think they can fit in the Intel HD3000 with double the EU count of Intel HD2000 without redesigning and loss in CPU performance to fit the GPU within the same processor TDP. Llano will compete with Ivy Bridge with a die shrink and higher number of EU.

I hadn't heard that, but it wouldn't come close to Llano's IGP.

Intel's welcoming party? I don't know why Intel would even try to pretent their igps will go head to head with AMD's fusion chips. The leaks already show that AMD's IGP will majorly outclass Intels stuff. Even the lowly bobcat gpu gives most of intel's igps a run for their money and with better features. Not to mention better drivers. IB won't even be enough to out do Llano from whats currently known either.

Edit: At current prices AMD's igp will face Intels 2xxx series anyways. Last I remember their 3xxx igp is only on higher-end chips?

I doubt it. The number of people who overclock their CPUs is a very small part of the market.

You also assume that AMD is going to release a BE version of their two core Llano chips.

I doubt that we would need multiplier adjustment to OC Liano chips just as we don't need adjustable multiplier to oc Phenom/Bloomfield etc. The "old fashioned" route of increasing BCL clock should work.
