I know. I had Q6600 @ 3.4Ghz and then i7 860 @ 3.9Ghz. Even in recent years I still read from time to time how C2Q -> Nehalem/Lynnfield wasn't a good upgrade, other than HT. All I have to say is those gamers are either ignorant to facts or haven't read any newer reviews. The move from C2Q->Nehalem/Lynnfield for games is greater than any of the recent generations. Unfortunately, in newer gamers even the Nehalem/Lynnfield and SB i5s are starting to bottleneck modern GPUs too. Other than i7 2600K OC, everything below is it on its way to upgrade heaven. Once we have GPUs as powerful as Fury X CF with 14nm FinFET gen, I wouldn't be surprised if i7 2600K->3770K gen will also start to become a big bottleneck. Although DX12 may change this. By summer of 2016, Haswell i7 4770K will be 3 years old, while i7 2600K will be 5.5 years old! Time flies.
