Are going to use analog audio or audio over HDMI? The audio card would be redundant in the latter case but other than that, it's a good build.

No need to let that performance go to waste... Add a 120-256GB SSD for your OS and programs.

Yes, the build will work. I can't really speak to cost effectiveness since you don't have prices listed. However, the major flaw in the configuration is that it's a modern midrange gaming PC without an SSD.

I suspect that the WD Black HDD costs too much. I would opt for a less expensive drive like this Toshiba 2TB for $70 AP and use that savings to offset the cost of a ~250GB SSD such as the OCZ ARC 100 240GB for $80 AR.
