Actually, theres benchmarks all over with doom 3 in them. Their not official demos or anything, but their benchmarks from doom 3, with the engine, which is what counts. Their early benchmarks which means by the time the game comes out, it should improve in running on all computers in general. Tomshardware and Hard|OCP both had big articles benchmarking the 5900 Ultra/9800 pro 128/9800 pro 256 and misc other ati and nvidia cards. From what i remember, both sites benchmarked it on a p4-3.0's. Tomshardware did 2x256 rambus, and Hard|OCP did 2x512 Corsair 3200xms . Benchmarks on it in medium quality were about 80 fps in 1024x768 on the 5900 ultra. High quality, it dropped to about 50 fps. The 5900 ultra beat all the cards, its the best video card out, but keep in mind, its also half a grand. $500-600 for that thing. Id just wait until the games come out, and then buy the next generation video card. No gamer video card is worth over $500. After these companies broke the $400 mark, it became more of a bullshit vidcard/game maker scam. Ever notice whenever ID releases a game, nvidia releases a card that runs it the best, and thats when you see $400-500 video cards. That's a whole other topic though, anyways, heres the links to the articles:
