I think you are giving my cerebral faculty too much credit, I actually meant what I was saying - I cannot decipher your post to understand what it is that I am supposed to see/find when I go over to OCN and XS.

Are you saying that the freelance reviewers on those sites, the member-based reviews, are biased/prejudiced and basic BS?

In all seriousness, I think PC hardware is on a good mood right now. Intel, Amd and nVidia are always trying to release the best hardware possible so us, the geeks, will buy them and drool over a 22 FPS increase in our games

do you realize us DIY'ers are in the under 1% minority of all computer consumers? Sales are fine for now, plenty money to be had for hardware makers and a large shift to shake that would take a while.
OEM Desktops are dieing, that is why HP got out and why several UK makers sold out or went under. Portables continue to grow in sales with no end in sight. DIY is likely more a matter of not if but when.

no thats home consumers. sure there are millions of DIY hardware sales to personal consumers, but were still the minority. Time can change everything or have you not learned that yet?

I used to upgrade every year or so. Then I stopped playing games (seriously - why did it take 7 years to get a new flight sim out? Oleg?). Then I realized that my e2200 oc'ed to 3ghz is fine for now...after an SSD upgrade. So I haven't upgraded since 2007. Then Tablets, phones, and laptops compete for every spare $. Then the economy tanked. Debbie Downer says yes, the hobby is slowly coming to crawl.

I am not even going to bother searching the overall worldwide DIY market share but it's not 1%.

Also, you probably already know more PCs are sold in China than in the US.

I remember in the mid 90s when Gateway was selling their "$1,000.00 Pentium" PC and everyone said the enthusiast market would be destroyed by such cheap, mass produced PCs. Well, here we are, almost 20 years later.

im an avid gamer, so no way is a laptop or tablet ever gonna be able to play the latest games at decent settings. besides a 10" or 15" screen is horrid compared to my 27" 1080 HD monitor.
