On a side note, has Laura Bush ever spoken? I haven't heard her say ONE WORD in the past year and a half of campaigning. She seems like a very shy person but SHE HAD BETTER GET USED TO THE SPOTLIGHT!

One thing we're gonna have to get used to is that we're not gonna have the slick Hollywood show going anymore. Dubya isn't liked by Hollywood (duh) so he's not gonna have TV producers managing the propaganda. He ranch is near Waco (Crawford) and it's a dry, dusty prairie that reporters aren't gonna like hanging out at when Dubya is at the "Western White House".

Colin Powell? Big surprise there.

Prediction: In 2004, Chaney will drop off the ticket citing health reasons and Powell becomes Veep, virtually assuring Dubya reelection.

I was thinking about the Chris Rock bit while I was writing that. I think it's possible still.

Remember how a lot of people liked the glamour of Nancy Reagan after Rosalyn Carter, but then tired of it and welcomed the grandma-looking Barbara Bush? Same thing here. We've had 8 years of Hillary! talking down to us like we're 5-year olds and I think the country is in the mood for a First Lady who isn't a Lady MacBeth type.

Best First Lady, IMHO?

Eleanor Roosevelt. She had the right combination of strength and grace. Hilary may have looked up to her, but she could never quite get it right.

I think a first lady has an obligation to do something besides entertain and redecorate. Promoting worthy causes is a nice place to start... self promotion should be avoided.

If Laura Bush really cares about the school system and does something to bring about positive change, I will salute her.

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that you're of African descent. Let me you ask this - who is the better role model for a child of ANY color? Colin Powell? Rae Carruth? OJ Simpson? Lewis Farrakkhan, perhaps?

Colin Powell is a great man and a good human being. Don't disparage him without specific examples of impropriety.
