As you are a new PC builder, I agree with rickon, find a way to get the SSD before you put this thing together. I hate having to reload windows (not hard, just time consuming, the less you've done it the longer it takes) and you will want that on the SSD.

Buy the SSD first, then the big storage drive later. You will want to put your operating system on the SSD and it will be much easier to start out with it on the SSD rather than try to transfer it later.

Agree 100%. If anything, you can drop the HDD for now and get the M4 128GB for $100. That's only +$10 net and it's much easier to add a storage drive than it is to migrate the OS to a new (smaller) drive.

can I get a link to the gigabyte windforce?

The video card you had chosen in the original post is the Windforce, despite not having that name tagged all over it. Though now with the additional cost of shipping on top of that (used to be free) might as well opt for the Twin Frozr.

Okay so buy the m4 ssd then a few weeks later buy a tb hdd and don't install windows on it?
Right.

Get the SSD now, install Windows on it "and what other programs you typically start with". After a few weeks, buy the HDD and use it for everything else.

For a desktop they're both fine (it's a tiny difference), the slims were made for super slim laptops iirc so whichever is cheaper for you.

It means the height is 9mm. As long as it is a 2.5" drive, it will fit in a 2.5" drive bay.

well how do i know if the "fat" one will fit?? because $99 is less money
Like krnmastersgt said, if it is for a desktop it will fit.

Only reason you might need the slim is if you had a laptop/netbook with no room for the 9mm.
