Will this Pc be abel to do High Def output to TV ?

I am Think of moving my PC to my Living room. I have 50 " 180p Plasma TV in there.

PC Specs are
CPU 2.4 Core 2 Duo not oc
GPU a nivda 7950 Gto 512mg ram
2 gig of Ram
230 gig Hard drive
Creative SB X-fi sound card

Can reinstall Vista ultimat

Was wanting to browse the web. look at media like pictures and home movies.

Maybe later play a game on it using a PS3 for that right now

should be fine. maybe not for playing intensive games with lots of eye candy, but for running video at 1080p, it should be fine. also, for the love of god, OC that C2D! it is almost a sin not to overclock such a beast!

Ok thanks I will try as soon as I get bell south to put a phone jack in that room I will try that. I lose ( comes's in and out) connection every time it rains or there is a storm close by every. So either I have a house wiring problem or there line to me dose.

Wish Sony had went with Intel Core 2 duos 2 or 3 of them and had 1 to 2 gig of ram instead of 512 I would just run Linux and not fool with the PC in there. PPC Linux doesn't support flash player to browse the web with.

Get yourself a $10-15 DVI to HDMI cable from Newegg. Radio Shack, Best Buy, etc sell $50 cables (for yuppies), which is a joke.

Yea I will do that thanks and yes I dint pay but $12 at CC for my HDMI cable but you are right some seem to charge a very high price for HDMI cabels.

This thread wasn't to talk about PS 3 but just think how many they would of sold if they could do what I stated eariler.

That system is overkill for what you need.

Does that Video card have HDMI? If not, you might consider using XP rather than Vista. Vista isn't gonna give you HD out of any other interface - at least until some one cracks it's DRM. Linky

Huh? The only thing that isn't HD is locked movies (HD/BR) when outputting to a non-HDCP monitor. Everything else is HD like it should be.

Agreed. The only limitation I can see with this system is if an HD drive is installed, in which case an upgrade to something like an 8600GTS would be necessary to display at 1080p.
