Will this powersupply be good enough?

Would this power supply be able to handle (2) EVGA Geforce GTX 275's in SLI?
Right now I'm running just one with my CPU being an AMD Phenom II x4 955. I have one hard drive, one cd-rom drive, nothing else really gulping up power.

I want to say yes, but wait for someone else to chime in too. I'm not really familiar with ThermalTake's "Black Widow" PSUs. Their lower-end PSUs aren't so great, and are overrated by a bit, esp. the TR2-430. Their ToughPower line is supposed to be great, however. Don't know where yours sits.

His is a TR2-850, so I'd be wary of it as I am of all TR2 Thermaltake power supplies.

GTX275 won't use anywhere near 18A, so you should be fine.

His particular model is made by CWT based on the pictures on Thermaltake's website. Instead of the HEC junk that some TR2s are.

I'm not too keen on the abbreviated meanings, what is CWT, and HEC?

I looked up the invoice on my videocard when I bought it and newegg says this is the power requirements.

"Minimum of a 550 Watt power supply.
(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 40 Amps.)"

My rails are 18amps, right? It has 4 Apparently each one for 18 a piece, do I combine these for total amperage availability ?

What do you all think, two EVGA GTX 275's? If it's a tight fit, I won't bother. Although I cannot buy the same model from newegg anymore so I guess I'd have to contact the manufacturer.

The new GTX 480 (fermi) I might get but this is the power requirements:
Minimum of a 600 Watt power supply. (Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 42 Amps.)

They are the companies that actually make the power supplies. Thermaltake does not make them, they contract out to have them made and have their badges placed on them.

No, you don't combine them. Look at the label, it should tell you what the combined current capacity is. It should be 60A or 720W. Looking at the photos on newegg...the TR2 850 is actually a 750W power supply which is rated at Peak power output instead of continuous output, as most others are.
Either way, it should be more than sufficient for your setup with 2 GTX 275s
