It doesn't but with a 250GB hdd, it really doesn't matter. We'll have to see if they have it for the Arcade equivalent.

My question was for the new version of the Arcade when it comes out.

MS probably just wants to build/stock one type of motherboard, so whatever the 250GB unit has is what the new Arcade will have.

Was not interested in upgrading until the gamestop promo. Had an Arcase with HD, 3 extra old controllers, 2*512mb memory cards (more motivating to ditch since the newer xboxes are eliminating the ports), and it ended up being $80 (including tax) to upgrade to the newer model.

That and with the addition of USB storage support, a measly 512MB of internal memory doesn't do the Arcade much good.

I just bought one off of amazon and a migration kit from the microsoft store.

I eventually plan on selling my old xbox (which will eventually need a new dvd drive), my 120gb drive, and a spare controller to recoup some of the cost.

Just picked up that Arcade 360 deal from Target this past weekend. $130 + $50 gift card.

I don't think the slim has anything I care about. I guess it's quieter. But I've never needed more than 120 GB of drive space (could probably get away with 60 GB), I don't need lots of USB ports, and I am not going to get Kinect so the power port isn't useful to me either. If my current one died I'd probably still just get a regular one used or on clearance.

What appealed to me the most was built in wifi. I've always thought the adapters were a complete ripoff and refused to buy one. I also only had a 20gb hard drive, so the upgrade was nice, and my old system was loud as hell.

I agree with you partially. The HDD is rather large and I probably wouldn't use anywhere near all of it. My 360 is hardwired so Wi-Fi isn't a big selling point. But when I see a 50% reduction in power consumption compared to my launch console, it has me sold.

Yeah, I still have a launch console, but picked up one of the $130 Jasper units at Target because even those are significantly less power hungry than my launch 360 is.

I have been strangely pulled back into 360 gaming since getting the new one, I picked up Shadow Complex and Trials HD for $7 a pop Friday night and pretty much didn't play anything else except those 2 games all weekend.

I might as well. I have a launch 360 with the 20 gb hard drive as well as 4 wireless controllers lying around. The Wifi is what interests me.

I tried using the Arcade and it was noisy especially reading discs. I also didnt like having to hook up another ethernet cord which required a router. in other words I want a hd, quieter operation and built in wifi so the S is better for me. I think I will wait a bit though for a 120gb hd S model at a lower price point.

I got in on the target deal over the last weekend. This is my very first 360 (in fact, the first console since the msx days)!

Never got around to test with games since I don't have any at the moment. That being said, unless noise floor is significantly worse when a game is actually running, I too, like many others here fail to see a compelling reason to "upgrade".

Well, I caved. I had one ordered from Amazon, but it got pushed back till mid-July, so I ordered one from MS's store instead. I've been wanting a bigger HDD and it being black is nice as well. Dunno what I'll do with my current one.

Does Gamestop's trade in prices shown in this thread only apply if you get the new 360 from them? What are their normal prices?

I want one to replace my launch day xbox360 that's still going strong. The new one is black, hawt, and supposed to run cooler.

I would probably give my current one to my dad for playing Rockband 2 on it.

Holy shit, this new Xbox is quiet!

I originally had a non hdmi xenon 360, and it would sound like a vacuum cleaner when it was running a disc, and was still loud without a disc. The 360-s is silent even with a disc.

Or perhaps it's been that way for a while, but my original xbox was loud as hell. I'm impressed. I'm not so impressed at the stupid sound it makes whenever you turn it on and eject the tray, but that's just nitpicking.

Second that. If it wasn't for the light I wouldn't even be able to really tell it's on.

If you use the controller to power on / eject the tray it doesn't make that sound.
