I really have owned 5 vehicles in my life (been driving 40 years) 1 Datsun the rest American. Two of the above are/were motorcycles. I would buy American again, but would not rule out off shore makes.

Well, I paid attention and I rest my elbow on the sill, so I guess the 08 Impala fits me perfectly. I do like the new blue color of the 2010, but they're getting rid of the SS.

Absolutely. I love my 08 Impala.

I just bought a 06 with 20k miles...looks new. Talk about a nice car.

WAT?

The current generation impala is the automotive equivalent of xanax. I have yet to read a single positive review of the car, it's up there with the prev. gen malibu as far as made-for-avis crap is concerned.

There are much better alternatives available in both used and new markets (g8, gto, new malibu, fusion, new taurus)

No. I'm 29, been through three new Nissans, three new Hondas, one used Honda, and one new Acura.

I might get a used Lexus one of these days (6-speed IS300 or IS250 RWD) but the next one's definitely going to be a used Honda.

So you've been driving for at most 13 years and have gone through 8 cars and 7 of them were new?

2 year lease. Some people like to have the latest and greatest. Leasing is a good option for them if they don't care about the cost.

I'm confident that the workers at Toyota and Honda's American plants get decent wages and good health care.

Where is the option for: I don't have any make/model preferences so whoever sells the cheapest/most reliable sedan will get my business. Oh yeah, I always buy used and pay cash. Ergo,
Ford = yes
Chrysler = yes
GM=yes
Foreign = yes
Radio buttons FTL.

Nope. I am an unfortunate owner of the 00 Ford Focus (the most recalled vehicle in the history of automobiles I believe) and it's kind of left a sour taste in my mouth.

depends on the interior... if they still look as cheap then no. I've heard some Japanese vehicles have gone soft in this area as well... I haven't checked. A good interior after spending tens of thousands is important to me.

Currently own a Mustang, next car will be a Corvette.

I have no particular preference for foreign or domestic, in fact I have no particular preference for any mainstream make (with the possible exception of Subaru).

I will consider a lot of cars the next time around, though Chrysler currently doesn't offer anything I like. I guess it will come down to which class of vehicle I'm shopping for. When I got into my CTS4, I compared it to the G35x, BMW 335xi, IS250 AWD, and MB C class AWD. When I looked at price, interior size, appearance, engine options, vehicle dynamics, options, dealership experience, the Caddy was my favorite. I've thrown around the idea of a sporty sedan so it will be around a 2011ish Mustang GT, Corvette, Camaro, 370z, G37, 335i, and maybe a CTS-V coupe or M3 coupe.

There is a 2007 Toyota Rav4, 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX, and 1995 Ford F-150 in the driveway. I am not partial to any manufacturer. Ford quality has gotten a lot better in the last 5 years and Toyota has dropped some. If I ever buy another new vehicle, I will shop for the current most reliable manufacturer.

I drove several comparable cars before I got my Impala. I helped a friend at a dealership move their inventory about 10 miles inland for Hurricane Gustav. I guess I drove 10 vehicles or so (I tried to get cars in my price range, I ended up with some stuff I didn't really want because it was next in line).

I liked the Impala best. I will say that the Ford's have *excellent* steering. I almost bought a Focus (I think it was a Focus). The absolute worst was the Nissan Altima.

I don't know. I like my 08 Imapala LT. For $11,900 used, it really was a no brainer.

Without knowing the current lineups much, I'd consider them yes. Most likely a Ford as the Fusion, among others, looks pretty nice (although a little large maybe). Possibly GM but probably not Chrysler simply because they have not made anything I'd want for a long time.

But at the top of my list would be Subrau Legacy, Mazda 3/6, etc so they'd have to have a surprisingly great car or great deal to go Ford or GM.

Then again my car browsing is going to go on hold until end of this month where I find if I will still be employed or not...
