Wilmington, NC. what is there to do around it

Cousins wedding in July, wondering what all there is to do around there. should be a family vacation as well. Golfing, beach, what else?

and ill only be 20 for the wedding

Wilmington is a cool little town. There's some cool lighthouses to see on the Outer Banks...maybe go see where the Wright Brothers took their first flight?

Myrtle Beach, S.C. isn't too far away from Wilmington. That's a fun little place.

We used to visit there often around 10 years ago when I was stationed in Jacksonville NC, about 50 miles north. There is a lot to do downtown on the river, there is a shopping district and an old cotton mill. There is also the Battleship North Carolina, it should still be open for tours.

I live in Wilmington and am about to grad from UNCW, Wrightsville beach is where it's at in the summer. For nightlife you could go there or to the downtown bars. Sightseeing.. there is .. uhmm.. Airlie Gardens if you like plants, Fort fisher (war history and aquarium)

You could also go down to Myrtle Beach, lots of touristy stuff to do down there. About 70 miles from Wilmington.

Brunswick county (in between Myrtle and Wilmington) has more golf than you could shake a stick at.

Unless there are special tourist attractions there are the same things to do there as everywhere else.

Hey Nugz, are there nice beaches in the immediate Wilmington area? I don't like built-up beaches like Myrtle Beach, but quieter ones.

Dude, I went to Wilmington / Wrightsville Beach last Spring Break. My sister's BF's family owns a house there. Very nice indeed.

Wrightsville Beach is a pretty nice beach. Figure 8 is next to that and is very exclusive for something in the southeast. Carolina/Kure beach is about 20 minutes from Wilmington and you can drive out on the beach if you have a 4wd vehicle, that is pretty neat. Couple of beachs down south in Brunswick county too. My favorite and where all the college chicks are at, Wrightsville!
