Well the Asus AI Suite for my Z97 board hates this update. The software stopped working after the update, so I did a re-install. Rebooted to find no power being delivered to any USB ports (Asmedia and Intel ports). After trying three different version of this software for Asus Z97 boards, it seems that it just isn't going to work without an update from MS and/or Asus.

Off and on I have tried the Asus Suites, I have had trouble with all of them. I no longer put them on the computer. No more issues

I thought it was interesting that on a machine with a 3rd party AV software installed, it apparently won't let you enable protected folders!!

On another one with only Defender, protected folders worked just fine.

Anyone else see this on their machines?

I'm not gonna have this install on my main PC. Laptop works fine now after the update installed again.

Anyone having issues with BT devices? Since the update I have had to either unplug/re-plug and power cycle my keyboard (Logitech K810), OR delete and re-pair it to Windows every time I leave the computer alone for a while. Sleep is disabled, and I have disabled the USB device power management as well, but the issue persists.

Frustrating to say the least.

I had issues on the same laptop I mentioned above, with connecting my xbox one S BT controller. Had to completely remove then re-add.

I suspect that AISuite3 whispered into my bios's ear and told it to lock down at 800mhz not once but twice so I had to rid myself of it.

Actually I found that by installing a later version of AISuite (it was made for a different Z97 board), with none of the USB 3 enhancements (charger and speed boost) allowed it to operate correctly without killing USB functionality.

only one of my Windows 10 machines downloaded the FCU... I think I need to manually check for updates on the others.

my problem with Radeon Wattman defaulting hasn't happened since updating on the Ryzen 7 computer, but I think that's happened before. still not sure what the exact problem is though.

I've known my desktop's windows install has been messed up for awhile now, it's been having some issues, it's never successfully been able to install updates, it always failed during the restart and would just come back to build 10240 after every update saying an update failed and to try again.

Windows store wouldn't allow me to download and install any new apps (but old apps that came preinstalled could be uninstalled and redownloaded without issue).

Afterall awhile the "settings" menu just stopped opening. The Control panel still worked, but going to the windows icon and then the gear cog icon would pop a window open and then close immediately.

Finally got tired of it the other evening and with Destiny 2 launching I figured it was probably time to fix my windows install. I first attempted to install while keeping all the files and documents, but that failed (it claimed) due to the original windows install not being in the correct directory (which wasn't true from what I could tell).

But in the end I went ahead on a fresh install and just wipe everything, I had backups for pictures and documents so I was only really losing the time it would take to redownload and install some programs.

I was also pleasantly surprised to see microsoft servers able to handle my internet speeds, I peaked at 109MB/s but it was steady 102-105MB/s for a good 2-3 minutes.

Overall experience with the fall creators update has been positive. Though coming from a fairly corrupted install of windows 10 originally, i'm not sure if it's a great comparison.

Re-install your NIC drivers from the mobo mfg's web site? Is this a Killer NIC? Heard the same thing about the original CU.
just an intel nic. I will try it asap.

I am also testing my router and cable modem just in case the problem is not my PC.

You can also check for problems via device manager and right click on the device and select update drivers to check for newer versions. There will be a message in the window below if there's an issue with the device.

my nic driver is now the newest one.

seems the problem turned out to be my cable modem. there was some sort of update and it required a reboot according to my ISP.

so far everything seems normal again.

If you ever see a problem between your modem and router with no obvious cause try swapping the Ethernet cable between them and see if it goes away.

System protection and fast startup are turned back on. Those were the main two things I noticed after the update finished.

I had 4 systems that had hibernation OFF. After the install hibernation was ON on all 4. I noticed it cause the 16GB RAM systems had 12GB less free space. Beware of that silent silliness.

What is "System Protection" and where do you turn it back OFF at ?(never mind .. I found it ... It is My Computer, Properties & it is really System Restore)
Fast Startup I think I know where that setting is hiding.

I noticed this too. I had to turn it back off. I also noticed that MSIs Gaming App no longer functions correctly. Even the latest version on their site causes my RX480 run wonky then it eventually brings down the whole system. I wouldn't normally care but this silly bloated app is the only way to control the leds on my 480.
I don't blame MS for this though. I blame MSI for not having their shit together.

Another thing I was excited about was the ability to throttle Windows update. So I go to the "Limit how much bandwidth is used for downloading updates in the background" option and it is percentage based... I try to change is and the minimum is 5%!

So I do a test, and sure enough, this is 5% of my Gigabit LAN speed. That means 50Mbps!!! I wish my internet was that fast...

I've had to reinstall several games to get them working again along with my nvidia driver which has been updated twice since FCU was released.

I probably should update my graphics driver. According to the device manager it's from 7/18/2016. It just works though and the last time I updated my driver my monitor would go to sleep sporadically. Then on the off chance that it did I couldn't get it to wake back up so I had to soft reset.
I don't blame MS for that though. I blame AMD for not having their shit together.
