Yes that is one of the issues surrounding the upgrade. I used the repair function to restore the aps that it rendered inoperable by the process.
Were you low on disk space by any chance?Today I ran into a really serious glitch. Apparently, this upgrade also involves Microsoft compacting all OS binaries to save disk space. That should not have been done without permission. It rendered several apps inoperable until I figured out how to reverse that compacting operation. To do that, you must run CMD as Admin, and add the following command to C:\Windows/System32:
compact /compactOs:never
It takes some time, but it works. It uncompacted 13,658 files in 9187 directories. Now the system and apps run normally.
Microsoft should have asked permission or at least given an advisory.
Why bother responding with this nonsense in a thread about the Windows 10 fall update? In other news, for those not succumbing to the Microsoft kool-aid, Linux Mint 17.3 beta Cinnamon just came out. Installed it on a fresh SSD, on my Q9300 rig w/8GB and R7 250X 2GB video. It's really slick! Who needs Windows...
Right, it is so smooth on AMD graphics, if I didn't know better. In other news, for those not succumbing to the Microsoft kool-aid, Linux Mint 17.3 beta Cinnamon just came out. Installed it on a fresh SSD, on my Q9300 rig w/8GB and R7 250X 2GB video. It's really slick! Who needs Windows...

wow, left my computer on today and it did the upgrade for me.
Came back home to a "Hi", "we did an update while you were gone", "All your files are exactly where you left them".....except its not! once you login, it says we deleted cpuz...LOL, great thanks
yea its kinda stupid it deletes things but TBH how often do you use CPUz? initial OC work and then never has been my experience using CPUz

Win10 enabled fast startup by default after upgrade as well, yes things I can fix myself after but some of these should of been left alone.
Does anyone have Win10 Enterprise? I read that the media creation tool will not work to upgrade that version. I've checked several times and the update isn't appearing in Windows Update. Do I just wait? Has anyone gotten to update from windows update running Win 10 Enterprise?
VL is just trying to drive up his post count again with useless blather.

Actually, I use CPUz about every other week, just to check on things... but it shouldn't matter whether I use it once a year or once an hour... Mem is correct... an update that is breaking things, uninstalling things, is unconscionable.
