New cumulative update available on WU: Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3124200).

I wonder if this is what caused the recent changes to Mail?

Some of the changes are just... "???"

Why was "Accounts" changed to "Manage Accounts?" Breaks all the tutorials out there.

The combined inboxes option is implemented in the WORST POSSIBLE WAY. You should be able to expand the combined inboxes to see the individual Inboxes, Microsoft!

Selecting accounts to combine and allowing you to name the combined Inbox is OK. It gives you some flexibility beyond OSX Mail's implementation, but separating the Inboxes is clunky and unintuitive.

Do any other email clients do a unified Inbox in the same way as OSX Mail? OSX Mail does that right: One unified Inbox, which expands to show individual inboxes.

In outlook I have separate inboxes for each email account and thunderbird is similar. My pst data file also has an inbox but I don't use it and just stick with my primary account. I wish that outlook had a unified inbox which would make it so much easier to just read new mail irrespective of which account it was delivered under.

The Nov. update is still not appearing for me. Do I still have to wait for the staggered rollout or is there a way to manually download the update itself and install it?

How long is Microsoft offering the free upgrade to 10 for Windows 7 users?

EDIT: nm - July 28th 2016.

What if a machine that upgraded to 10 fails then has to reinstall 7 to get to 10 after July 28th 2016.? Will 10 still be available to upgrade to?

Once you upgrade in place and active 10 on your hardware you can clean install it from that point on without having to worry about the previous OS. I've done it several times and it will automatically activate itself once the pc goes online.

Not showing for me either only on my Acer 2-in-1. Is it possible that some devices are on enterprise like update ring? You know, very slow.

If the version of windows you are attempting to update is valid and activated you don't need a key to upgrade. I just received my tablet back from rma today and they reverted it all the way back to a clean install of 8.1. I've spent the better part of this afternoon restoring it to 10 plus had to reinstall office.

Can Windows 10 be installed with a Windows 7 Upgrade key? When Vista was out and Microsoft sold the upgrades for 50 bucks I brought 2 of them.

Good question, I am sure that the in-place upgrade will work.

From here I would assume yes

I have bolded the relevant part, as the anytime upgrade key will work, i am guessing the regular upgrade keys should too

Activating Windows 10 (Version 1511 or higher) using a Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1 product key

During the free upgrade, you can use a valid Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1 product key to activate Windows 10 (Version 1511 or higher). The following types of product keys are supported:

Product keys included in the packaging or the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) attached to your PC that came installed with Windows.

Product keys included in the confirmation email you received after buying Windows from an online retailer.

Product keys included in the box the Windows DVD came in.

Product keys you bought using Windows Anytime Upgrade or Get Genuine Windows.

If you bought a Windows 8.1 Pro Pack product key, you can use it to activate Windows 10 Pro.

MS just released another cumulative update which changes the OS version to 10586.71. Not sure about exactly what changes took place.

What a day. Windows 10 Upgrade is now auto installing by giving the user only 120 minutes time to cancel. This is happening for both Windows 7 and 8.1 machines. I already had 3 clients today saying their computer automatically updated to win 10 by itself today.

I understand they probably had windows Updates setup to install automatically, but to install a whole new O/S without the user saying YES, that's totally messed up. A client already lost their QB company file, because quickbooks was open when win 10 decided to install itself, and forcefully closed QB, corrupting the company file.

Microsoft is on for a nice big lawsuit very soon.

From what I understand, someone still had to click "yes." I'm not justifying MS's actions with the W10 upgrade process (I am running the tool to block it on my MCE box -- I have a Ceton InfintTV with a cablecard setup and I refuse to give it up yet). But I could have sworn that MS said that people will always have to opt-in for the upgrade to finally occur once and for all.

Take a look in the Windows.old directory, it might be that you will find a valid backup there.

System restore?

I tried that, there are no restore points before the windows 10 upgrade...
We managed to get the file fixed through Intuit support, but now the computer seems like it needs to be reformated, quickbooks keeps crashing when we try to open the company file, while same file open fine in another pc, with same win 7.

This win10 stuff is totally confusing. My Win7 machine has been bugging me about upgrading, but I have resisted as I might build a new/upgrade PC soon, including a new Mobo and CPU (although I've been saying that for 1.5 years..). But that might not happen until after the "1 year free" deadline. So can I secure my 7>10 upgrade, and still transfer it to my new PC under the same license?? Or should I hurry up and build my new PC now? I have an OEM disc with Win 7.

Would I update my current PC to 10, then create an install USB or DVD? And get a license code from somewhere? Would this secure my W10 license past the deadline?

With a new PC would I install 7 from my disc, activate, then in-place upgrade to 10, then activate that? How can i do this after the july deadline?

edit: after searching around it sounds like there's no chance to move an OEM license to a different mobo anyway. So I guess I'm SOL. Damn.

So for a new build I'm looking at another $90/$100 for home/pro win10

Technically, your last comment is correct - an OEM license doesn't carry over in either case, so it won't really matter.

BUT, depending on what you are upgrading from/to, many OEM licenses Windows 8.1 and back will allow you to reactivate with a small hardware change.

BUT, the new Windows 10 activation system "fixes" that. So whatever hardware you activate 10 on, that's it for OEM.

So if you have multiple users with no log on password and you boot up the computer it will automatically log on to the last account used. Who thought that was a good idea? I found a work around but why would they implement something like that? If you have a home PC and each family member has a log on...

I don't understand that one either. I wonder if any of the Insider Builds have changed this yet?
