Win 64xp Question

I have a question regarding win64. I "aquired" a version of 64 and installed it on my A64 3000+ Machine. Im having trouble connecting to the internet. The night before I was at a friends house and it seemed to work fine. The error message I am getting mentions there is not a proper IP address or that one could not be found. All of my lan settings were the default auto find for IP and other options. I am extremely ignorant of how to navigate through admin settings and sometimes which ones are the propper settings. Im not looking for a finite solution but if I could get someone to point me in the right direction i could probably narrow it down with more research. Maybe Im not asking the right questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated !

I think it is a beta version from a shareware program. A friend helped me aquire it . The version I have is unknown at this time. The drivers were also from a shareware program.

This goes to show my overall ignorance of software. I have no Idea what P2P/BT is.

BT = Bit Torrent?

I think it was a limewire or bearshare program.

lilmewire is not a "shareware" program, it's for peer to peer file transfers, usually associated with illegal activies, like copyright infringment, illegal software distribution, etc. If you got XP from there, it's most likely and illegal copy, which is frowned on by most of the AT crowd. Download a beta version from MS, then if it's borked, come talk to us. Who knows what that hacked version has on it.

You can order a free downloadable "trial" from microsoft. Put in your info and they email you a CD key and DL link to an ISO.
