They also brought out 7233 in WinMain branch - day after 7232, but Wzor is now showing 7260 as RTM done deal
AAARRRGH!!
Endless downloads one after another

"About Windows 7 RTM leak we can predict to appear in next 3-4 days. Keep checking our site for every latest buzz on Windows 7. Now two assembly lines are testing the builds RTM line with 6.1.7260.0.win7_rtm.090612-2110 - RTM branch build and - WINMAIN branch build: 6.1.7233.0.winmain.090614-1655 - actual build in winmain branch. That?s the first candidate for the final assembly of Windows 7. All assemblies in the assembly line WIN7_RTM candidates for the finals. Here are the screenshot proof for Build 7260 by Wzor."

There's really no point in trying to guess what build is RTM - usually everyone is wrong. When Windows hits RTM, Microsoft will announce it.

Well you can post if you want, I'm not going to stop you. I'm just saying that you're going to be reporting to us that 7264 is the RTM build tomorrow, 7273 on Friday, etc. With the number of false alarms it gets redundant, no?

No one knows what the RTM build is going to be, anyone that claims otherwise is lying.

Bah, this constant "RTM is XXXX, no its YYYY" who cares until it's stated from Microsoft that the RTM has been released to TechNet and Manufacturers. RC1 works great, no need to update every day because a new version hit the torrents.

Go ahead and laugh.
But my 7232 post got 528 hits so far
And this one has 293 so far
I can remember when some new HW came out this forum would get 2000 registered member online
Then it was 1500
Then 1100
Then 800
700
now 500 is best at peak time
Sunday evening was 76
off peak normal is 375
at this minute 278
And that ALL forums, not just O/S

Why?
1.) Too critical modding.
2.) The "old boys" scaring away with smart ass comments anyone who had the temerity to post someting other than asking the resident genius crowd a stupid newb question

I quit posting here about 2 years ago, except for an occasional Hot Deals comment
Hot deals is the only forum here where peeps try to help each other - the only forum its "safe" to post.
The only reason I restarted here on O/S is just because of Win 7 - nothing else.
As soon as Win 7 goes RTM, once again I no longer log in - why should I open myself to petty criticism over nothing?

Eventually, a viewership number in a relentless gradual downward slope means the online registered will eventually be so low, there will be no reason to even have an AT forum, unless for the lookyloo's.
How many new posts per day on O/S?
10? 12?

Go ahead and laugh. Hardee har har.

And if anyone is offended by this and wants to ban me for life - be my guest.
At least that would stop any TEMPTATION I would have to post.
I have a static IP and I can give you the numbers by PM.
I mean like - who cares??
Right?

Oh, and by the way Wzor now says MS just moved on to 7261 on the RTM branch (6.1.7261.0.win7_rtm.090615-1900) - lol

What the hell? People criticize you because you posted two threads with "FINAL RTM" when it wasn't even final at all. Get some thicker skin and/or stop posting here if you think it's so crappy.

Maybe people don't have the free time like they used to, and that's the real reason posts are going down:laugh:

They are already on build 7261 cause they found an issue in 7260. 7260 has the "rtm" in it because it was deemed the escrow build internally. For people who don't know the terminology, escrow means that "this" *is* the build unless they find a breaking issue. In this case, it seems they did.

As a side note, the MSDN subscriber site is supposed to be offline tomorrow... it is possible that they may release the RTM to MSDN and TechNet tomorrow!

In short, quit guessing .

This is a public forum
I can guess as much as I want to
My posts dont have to meet any members litmus test.
C'mon Anand.
Pull the plug on this dinosaur
We are in a big recession. bandwidth for the forums cant come cheap.
Your money maker (the AT part with the ads) is all that counts really
Or just keep OT and P&N and add some advertising there
Or put me in charge of the forums
My first act would be to ban from posting anyone who registered before Jan 07

While I sympathize with you on the behavior of some posters on this forum, (And most other forums today. Seems to be a huge influx of childish flamers and outright rude people posting every where.) you are way overreacting to this crap and are coming off more childish than the people criticizing you for posting your opinion.

ViRGE is absolutely correct and was not in any way rude. There really is no point in guessing which leaked build is RTM because only a few privileged in Microsoft has any clue which builds are being considered for RTM.

If you can't stand these forums so much, just do us a favor and instead of threatening to quit posting and flaming others for expressing their opinion, just log out and move on. I personally have learned to just filter out the crap for the most part and just enjoy the good parts of the forum. ( I am human and sometimes do get in a tiff with someone. I try not to but sometimes my buttons get pushed just right.)

The mark of an adult is you make an effort to just let the crap roll off your back and just ignore it.
